I was looking for someone to look after my now 16 month old son for a day or two a week so joined Childcare.co.uk. Emma and Paul were the only childminders I met from my search because as soon as I met them in person I knew they were perfect.
Between the two of them, Emma and Paul have created a rich, stimulating, creative and loving environment for the children they look after. My son has settled in extremely well despite only being there one or two days a week and this is down to their confidence and excellent level of care. He's enjoyed a varying menu of delicious and healthy meals, been to the farm, a variety of local classes and playing spaces as well as having created lovely paintings and cards to bring home
Practical and sensible care combined with imaginative play and affection - I can't recommend Emma and Paul highly enough. I'm now leaving London and only hope I can find someone as well suited to my son as they have been.
As soon as I met with Emma and Paul I knew it was the right childcare setting for my daughter. My little one loves it there, and I can go to work feeling that she is safe, happy and enjoying a really good time with the other children. Emma's own children are always immaculately behaved and it's lovely to see how caring they are towards the babies and toddlers too.
The house is always spotless and the meals home-cooked and nutritious. There's a great balance of play (and music and dancing) and no-nonsense rule-setting, and my daughter even offered some of her lunch to another little girl the other day, something I have never seen her do before. I know Emma and Paul encourage sociable mealtimes with lots of chat and sharing. I feel incredibly lucky to have found this brilliant childcare team and know that my child will benefit from their love and care for years to come. Can't recommend highly enough.
Emma and Paul looked after my son from the age of ten months to nearly three and he was so happy there. He still talks about them now. Emma's children took my son as one of their own and I always felt like he was part of the family.
Emma is super-organised, the children eat really well balanced home-cooked meals and go out every day. There is a real variety of activities too, farm visits, play-groups, soft play and they even took my son to the natural history museum (I haven't even managed to do that yet!). They keep daily diaries for you to read so that you can catch up on what your child has been doing that day. The garden is massive with lots of space for the children to run around in and Emma's house is right next door to a park.
I always loved the fact that it is a male/female team working together. Paul was a fantastic male role model for my son, and with two childminders you know when meal preparation and nappy changes are happening the children are not unsupervised.
Together they are a truly caring, fun and professional team, and I am so grateful that I found them when I did, they gave my son a really great start.
Emma Pollock started looking after my daughter after school for me sometimes during reception year when I had unfortunately become a single parent. Her daughter was in the same class as mine & even though I had booked her into an 'after school club' in Reception year the number of times they either forgot to pick her up or collect her from school was causing major concern for us as well as disruption. Emma saved the day & my sanity. As a mum herself she has incredible empathy as well as sympathy polished with a cracking sense of humour! She is educated, firm, fair & during the times when she has looked after my daughter & in all the time that Naeema daughter) was in her care/charge i.e every Tuesday after school she felt nothing but reassurance, contentment & secure in the knowledge that she would receive the best care, a most stimulating & fun environment as well as experiencing a diverse & very balanced diet. It got to the stage where my daughter would ask me if I could make my macaroni cheese the way 'Emma does!' No pressure there ha ha & Emma is the most accommodating & diverse cook when it comes to children with eating issues, food intolerance etc. Emma provides a v stimulating, fun environment where the children can learn to come into their own, express themselves & have fun along the way.....l rate Emma as a 10 out of 10.She is the best, helping my child to work through a series of obsessive & compulsive disorders relationship. Emma is intuitiutuve, kind, considerate & really smart! Go Neems!!!!!KIK
My daughter was looked after by Emma for most of her primary school years and she loved every minute of it. She is now in year seven and I think that she wouldn't be the confident and well mannered girl she is without Emma's help and excellent childcare. My daughter loved going there and was very happy with all the activities that Emma provided and I had no worries as I knew that she was being looked after and was eating home cooked food and fruit and vegetables for every meal.
When I would pick her up she was always happy and eager to tell me about what she had done that afternoon. My daughter had previously been quite shy especially around adults but Emma made her feel at ease and she always talked about how comfortable she was was made to feel in Emma's house and in her care.
I would recommend Emma to any parent in the process of looking for good childcare in the N10 area.
Our two and a half year old son goes to Emma and Paul three days a week and has been for the last year. The house is warm and friendly and our son is always happy and excited to be dropped off and full of stories of what he did when he comes home.
Plenty of toys and activities available, freshly cooked yummy sounding food, clean and child friendly space in doors and out.
Emma and Paul have been excellent at communicating with us about what he does in the day through a diary and are always happy to have a chat. We had some concerns about our son and Emma was very kind in talking about it and offering advice - they are both knowledgeable and well trained.
We are so very pleased with Emma and Paul. Our 5 year old loves the time he spends there. The garden is wonderful he loves the trampoline. We're jealous of the food he gets. We knew immediately on meeting Emma that that she'd be good and she is. It's nice for our son to have some fun with a family and other children after school. The care Emma and Paul offer is second to none.
My 6 year old is looked after my Emma and Paul, before and after school and my youngest is also going to be starting soon.
There is always a very friendly atmosphere; they are well organised; provide tasty food and always seem to be having lots of fun.
I would highly recommend them.
My little 2 year old son is under Emma's and Paul's care. He started when he was about 8-9 months old.
I think that he receives excellent care, and he is very happy. I like the fact that the children go to playgroups, playgrounds, farms and lots more. There is plenty of activities when they have to stay indoors (lots of toys, colouring, and the most fun one - trampoline in the garden)
The food is tasty and freshly prepared.
I always know what the little one was up to, as all is written in his diary.
Very happy with my choice of childcare, and the little one will be there for long while.
