In December 2016, my son was involved in a serious incident at Monarchs Childcare. My husband went to collect our son from Monarchs Childcare to be informed that he was involved in a fall. My son had severe trauma and swelling to his left eye. The incident had occurred an hour ago and no attempts were made to contact us.
I immediately sent an email to the owners of the nursery asking them to contact me. Our son was sluggish, upset and half his eye was closed.
Our son became unresponsive and passed out in the car. We drove straight to the local hospital where he was rushed through A&E and seen by two nurses and a doctor. I received a phone call from the owner (Mr Peters) asking me what had happened. Mr Peters was very defensive “I understand why you are upset, but he did not understand why I was angry”. My son was admitted to hospital for observation and discharged the following day. It was clear from the CCTV that my son had slipped on their floor and banged his head on a wooden chair.
