About Me

I am a level 3 nursery room leader. I have worked in childcare for 8 years now and truly loved working with children. I have always been based in a nursery setting and I feel I am ready to branch out and challenge myself. Taking my experience and knowledge into a new career path, such as being a nanny. I am very bubbly, confident and love getting stuck in with the children. I’m not afraid of a little mess. I pride myself on having great parent partnerships and having a high level of communication, for example telling parents about their children’s day in full depth. I am organised, great at time keeping and a hard worker.

My Experience

i have always enjoyed being around young children and have such a drive to make a big difference in children’s lives. As a level 3 nursery practitioner, I have worked with 5 months – 4 years, preparing activities, acting as a key worker for one or more children, monitoring their progress and sharing information about their development with their parents and/or carers, being able to work with them in a safe environment, making sure there are happy and learning. I have learnt that preparation, planning and communication are essential skills within childcare and teaching. By creating good relationships with staff, the children and parents it is possible to provide a holistic educational experience that compliments the child’s extra-curricular life as much as possible. Through my experience at work I have learnt to form all these good working partnerships, I am currently the parent partnership lead at my current work. I have also found working in a Nursery has allowed me to gain experience of the challenges and rewards of working with young children. As well as hands-on experience of dealing with the practical and emotional issues involved, such as attending to their physical wellbeing and comforting them when upset and spotting signs of safeguarding issues and responding to these correctly and effectively. These roles demonstrated the importance of the teacher/caregiver role in both the child’s life and education and emphasised the huge responsibility, and the hard work needed to meet that responsibility.
I am currently a level 3 nursery practitioner. I have previously been appointed a senior role and have been deputy in training. I have been working in childcare for 6 years now and have experienced plenty of situations and scenarios. I have worked alongside children with additional needs and planned appropriate activities and goals to help their development. I gain a sense of achievement knowing I do my upmost best to help the children, whatever their needs. I have also undertaken ECAT training and have a great knowledge on how to use the monitoring tool and how to use ECAT effectively.
Studying and working in education has shown me that it is a challenging and rewarding career, but I believe my track record of dedication and hard work in both elements suggests that I can meet its demands. My commitment to providing a first rate education for my future children has seen me strive to gain as many additionally useful skills as possible, be their language, ICT or first aid-related. It is this that has driven me to pursue my ambitions in the field, and that will continue to do so into my career.
