My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Maggie and I live in Penenden Heath, Maidstone (close to M20 junctions 6 and 7). I live in a non-smoking home with a garden and directly opposite a small play park, perfect for younger children.
I am a registered childminder with 13 years experience of childcare. I provide a warm, loving, safe environment which aims to develop children of all ages and within all areas of development, as well as allowing for children to be confident, happy and reach their potential. I work closely with parents and carers to enable continuity of care through every stage of development. Day contact books are kept for each child and these are available to take home at the end of every week as well as working in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (revised) and giving parents opportunity to become involved.
I attend regular play groups and outings such as Leeds Castle, museums, libraries, parks, woodland walks etc and tailor outings to meet the specific requirements of the childen.
I am a member of the Kent Childminding Network and Quality Assured.
My Experience
I have minded children from 3 months to 8 years and the children who have attended my setting tend to stay for sustained lengths of time, generally only moving on to go to school. My own children are all at school during the day and I can drop off and collect from local pre-schools but presently do not care for children over 5 years. I work closely with local pre-schools where I care for a children who attend both my setting and pre-school to allow for consistency in the needs of the childs care and development. I also work closely with parents and carers of children who attend my setting, keeping them informed and involved.
I am registered with OFSTED (graded good in all four categories Nov 2016) and a member of the Pacey. I have extending my knowledge by undertaking my NVQC Level 3 qualification which I obtained in June 2011.
I can provide recommendations/references on request.

Maggie first looked after my oldest daughter from when she was just over 1 year old and hen when I had my 2nd daughter, they both attended Maggie's - they loved it immediately too. My girls and I are all so sad that we have had to leave Maggie as we are moving away as she does an amazing job looking after them. She has taught them so much and they have so much fun at the same time. I love that Maggie took them to different settings such as preschool and walks to the park and looked at a wide variety of subjects and activities. She always kept me updated with her lovely day books and even kept in touch with my girl's local nursery too. Just really cared about my girls and always told me if there were anything to report. She was also very understanding and flexible with any time changes or holidays. I would definitely recommend Maggie as a childminder, I wish I could persuade her to move with us!
Maggie was a wonderful childminder. I felt so happy leaving my two boys with her. My eldest who is 3 always really looked forward to going to maggie's on the 2 days I worked each week!
She offered a true home from home setting with a variety of activities and crafts which the boys thoroughly enjoyed. She helped potty train my eldest and was able to offer some invaluable advice on all sorts of parenting aspects.
I was very sad to say goodbye to maggie when I had decided to leave work, and both my boys miss her dearly. She really nurtured them both and had such a positive impact on their learning and development. She was also a role model to them and brought put the best in them! My eldest still asks are we going to maggie's house today?!
Maggie has been fantastic for our daughter who was with Maggie for 2 years old. She is now leaving Maggie to go to school.
Maggie was both accommodating and flexible to our changing situation at home. She was understanding when we were late to collect when stuck in traffic and really helped us out when i was pregnant with my son, dropping off and collecting (when possible) from our house.
Maggie ensures that the children get out of the house at least once a day which made me happy as other minders will not take the children out. I eventually left work but whilst i was working my notice period my 1 year old had a bad time settling in but with a bit of perseverance he was settled by the time i left work. Maggie has always been very supportive and is a lovely lady with polite and friendly children of her own.
Maggie offer the free early years hours which i split between a preschool setting and Maggie's which worked well for us.
