About Me
I offer full, part time and after school & summer care.I live in Arkley Barnet.
I offer a warm home setting and my play, learning and activity set up is mainly Montessori based. I love education and take pride in teaching early education including a variety of sensory play, baby sign language and teaching phonics.I have a range of educational toys and activities to teach basic pre school subjects and confidence and self care. Each child’s learning development will be monitored in their individual learning journals. These will be sent home with the children throughout the year.
I have lovely outdoor play facilities around me including woods, secure parks and a park with swings and children's outdoor activities.
I also have a child friendly natural outdoor space within my home with sand and water trays and play kitchens.I have my own family car which is spacious and organised and holds 6 seats for the children with car seats from 0-12 years
My Experience
I am Ofsted registered, so have been assessed by Ofsted and follow all their standards of care and offer The Early Years Foundation Framework to help your child with Learning and developing as a unique child. A full learning journal and observations will be taken monthly for their development. I hold a paediatric first aid certificate and my previous working background was a surgical veterinary nurse for over 9 years within a busy 24 hour veterinary hospital where I looked after over 20 patients on a daily basis after a variety of surgical and medical problems. I also offer a Food hygiene level qualification so studied regarding hygiene in food preparation, and delivering the children within my care the right balance of food and nutrients to develop and grow.
My Qualifications
I have completed a childminding course with Barnet & Southgate college studying the Early Years Foundation stages for learning and developing and safeguarding children within my care. I also hold an up to date Paediatric first aid training certificate and hold a certificate in Food hygiene dealing with preparation, handling and serving food within my setting. I also keep up to date with childcare certificates online and my special interest is Early years education using a variety of different treaching methods but focusing on Montessori method using sensory baskets,tray work and monthly themes.
My Availability
I like to offer as much individual care as possible to each child whilst they are with me. I do offer school and nursery pickups depending on the schedule of the children who I have at the time. Please enquire to discuss. I offer an initial meet and greet within my home to discuss the requirements for your children so I can answer any questions you may have. You will meet myself and my family. I can offer flexible times for work hours and I am mother myself so understand the importance of a reliable safe carer.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
My fees are based on full time or part time hours. I will meet with you to discuss these further as I understand certain hours and days may be needed. I charge a day rate and can be flexible if need outside of these hours.

Our twin boys now 3 years old, have been with Lauren since they turned 1 and they have LOVED every minute spent with her. She is such a natural - kind, patient, naturing, professional, and excellent communication. It has become a second home for them. She has really bonded with the boys - treating them as individuals and since they’ve been there I have seen them progress massively.
Lauren follows EYFS framework she kept separate books for the boys and updated us on their progress. The time she spent working on this with them really shows too. The environment she has created with the toys and activities she has for the children are all to such a high standard and really thought out so the children aren’t bored.
The twins are lucky to have spent the last 2 years with Lauren.

Our daughter has loved going to Lauren’s since day 1. Lauren is extremely caring, knows our daughter well, and always provides fun and stimulating activities for her throughout the day. Our daughter has learnt so much with her and Lauren has encouraged her to be independent (in an age-appropriate way). Lauren really understands what it’s like to be a working parent and will always try to help where she can. This has helped the juggle of being a working parent as we can work safe in the knowledge that our daughter will be happy and have a great day with her.

Lauren looked after our daughter over a year. She had great awareness of our daughter's physical, social, intellectual and emotional development needs. She is reliable, responsible and trustworthy, building a friendly and open relationships with parents.

My daughter has been going to Lauren on and off for 3 years. Not only is Lauren experienced, caring and trustworthy, she also ensures there is plenty of activities and creative things for my child. I would recommend Lauren to any parent.

Lauren looked after my daughter for a year. She’s a lovely and sweet person and very good with children. They do loads of activities that my daughter enjoys and gives feedback and updates about her development. My daughter was always excited seeing her every Friday. Highly recommended!
