Our daughter attended wiggles and giggles from being around 10 months old until she was two and a half. Naturally, I had all of the usual parent worries about returning to work after maternity leave and placing my daughter into childcare for four days a week. However, any concerns I had were very quickly forgotten about because she settled in so well right from the beginning and the whole team at Wiggles were so great.
Our daughter absolutely loved going to nursery and it made all that guilt about working and putting her into childcare disappear. She made some lovely friends and developed massively during her time there. Her speech developed very quickly and we had a lot of comments about how well she spoke for her age, and I felt the wiggles team contributed a lot to this. They do so many activities with the children, our daughter was always coming home with different creations and things she’d made whilst at nursery.
Carol and Julie are exceptional and I couldn’t have asked for better people to be looking after our daughter. It really was like they were extended family. They went above and beyond, were always available to speak to or message if needed, if she was ill they always made the effort to check on how she was even outside of nursery hours. They even came along to our daughter’s christening, to which we only invited close family, but they felt as though they were.
We were very sad to have to leave the setting, and only did so when we moved house and the longer commute for us became too difficult, but in fact we kept this up for a year after moving house as we were so reluctant to move our daughter from such a lovely setting.
Julie and Carol also went above and beyond during lockdown 2020. They read books and sang songs to all the children before bed over a specially formed WhatsApp group that they organised. They did this every weekday evening before bedtime for the entirety of lockdown and during their own personal time. This meant so much at such a difficult time and our daughter really looked forward to story time/song time with Carol and Julie every evening. This also kept everyone’s spirits up and meant that it didn’t feel like we’d lost contact during the extended time away. I felt this really did encapsulate their commitment and dedication to the children that they look after. Even after our daughter left the setting, she has been back for visits and Carol and Julie continue to keep in touch. I could not recommend this setting, and in particular Julie and Carol, highly enough. They really are outstanding.
