When my maternity leave came to an end- I started looking for nursery options for my son aged 10 months!
I was so confident that Nurseries were what we wanted-after visiting one myself my heart just didn't agree to it.
I decided to look into having a childminder-through referrals I ended up speaking to Mandy and making an appointment to meet her!
This is when I meet little Aaron and Amaya; then and there I decided and felt that this environment and care would be what I wanted for my sunshine!
I strongly recommend when visiting your childminder to try and visit them during buisness hours; simply because the children are the best guideline to see & de if this is what you want!
Mandy was brilliant I saw how caring and full of love she was for the 2 kids!
The same evening my husband came and we confirmed that we would be delighted to have our baby to be in Mandy's care.
We started with settling in sessions of 1 hour - half a day sessions, Mandy updating me regularly how things are.
I was more than pleased actually thankful that Mandy made Arjun so comfortable and bonded with him in a way that now he actually doesn't want to come home but stay there to play, read books, do his arts & crafts or all the other amazing activity that these kids to with Mandy daily!
With love and affection the days are planned and a big importance is placed on gaining knowledge & learning while having fun!
The little ones learn and look upto the elder children while the elder ones learn to care for the younger ones!
Regularly we are updated on the progress in the different areas according to the EFYS guidelines.
Regularly there are themed days, weeks, festivals, celebrations and so much more!
A massive emphasis is put on being polite and well mannered this starts with table manners and goes into each thing Mandy does and teaches.
Now Arjun just turned 2 and I am so so thankful to have found Mandy and her lovely family!
Just like the other mummies reviewing Mandy I can not praise her and what she does for us enough; if I can answer any questions regarding Arjuns time with Mandy just ask her and she will happily pass my details to you!

Overall
I started looking for a childminder when my son was 9 months, the first
childminder I rang had no vacancies but recommended Mandy and I am so lucky she did. We started with a few settling in sessions to meet the other
children and Aaron seemed happy straight away however I found it a little
harder and Mandy was great she looked after me as well as Aaron and when I
did eventually start leaving him she sent me regular texts to let me know
how Aaron was and what he was up to which made those initial days so much
easier to get through.
Mandy takes her business very seriously and plans activities for each day a
month in advance, all the activities follow the guidelines of EYFS, her
activities concentrate on the children having fun but also development and
learning and she regularly sets a learning theme for the week e.g spirals -
to endorse this the children looked at the patterns on the inside of a
tree, a jam roll etc. Mandy has a good network of childminders and regularly organises joint ventures - i think Aaron has more friends than me in the village! Aaron loves being at Mandy's so much that it is always a struggle to get him to come home and he always looks forward to going again the next day. Aaron has just started Nursery, a big change for him so to make it easier for him Mandy put a plan together on the run-up to him starting to familarise him to where he was going with visits to the gate and pictures of the inside and she took time to talk to him regularly about what would happen when he started, this made the adjustment for Aaron so much easier.
Mandy is very strict on manners and teaching the children good eating
behaviours and it a credit to her perseverance at times that Aaron now
enjoys a great variety of foods as he is not an adventurous child. Mandy
encourages a loving and fun environment from her own children to the
children that she looks after they all care about each other and treat each other with the greatest respect.
I have been with Mandy for just under 3 years and I couldn't imagine having
any other childminder, she understands Aaron and treats him as the
individual he is and I wouldn't have it any other way. Mandy was rated
Outstanding in her Ofsted review earlier this year and she so deserves it!

Overall
I was in your shoes last year...searching for someone that I could trust to look after the most precious thing to me, my lil princess Amiah. I had seen several people and was starting to think that maybe I was asking for too much until I received an email from Mandy in response to my post on childcare.co.uk.
Mandy was extremely flexible from the very start, (...and I continue to appreciate her flexibility) I called her up and she clearly had her hands full out and about with the kids but she managed to fit me in to visit the same day while the kids were knapping...and it was a take me how u see me type of thing which worked well for me.
When I met Mandy I knew almost instantly that she would be the one to care for Amiah. Apart from the safety of my daughter, I was also looking for someone that would be quite similar to me in terms of parenting style, that they would be able to provide a home away from home environment, provide learning and development opportunities for the children, acknowledge and encourage their individuality and allow them to make choices, take them out regularly, and don't mind getting messy and just having fun! fun! fun!
Mandy prepares monthly plans and newsletters on what the children will be doing, which tend to focus on different themes which is fantastic as this can also be brought back home to expand on. Mandy is extremely creative with the type of activities that she plans for the children especially when they have their days at home and she also recognises a wide variety of cultures and faiths by doing related activities.
I could write an essay on how much I rate Mandy's childcare but I guess to sum it up Mandy is a lovely bubbly lady, with a lovely family which all goes to create a warm home away from home environment for your little one. The children are all very loving to one another which warms my heart to see how they have developed these relationships. Amiah is smiling before Mandy even opens the door which reassures me that whilst I am at work my baby is having a blast! Its often a struggle to take her home :0)
