About Us
Heronsgate is an Outstanding primary school set in large attractive grounds across two sites, one in Broadwaters, West Thamesmead and the other at Burrage Grove in Woolwich.
We achieve high standards of learning and behaviour and try to ensure that all children are able to reach his or her potential.
Children from all religious and cultural backgrounds, those with disabilities and special needs are very welcome.
We offer a creative, skills-based curriculum that combines excellence in teaching with enjoyment in learning. We enrich the curriculum with visits and visitors and a wide selection of clubs and activities, encouraging pupils to develop their creative and sporting activities as well as their academic abilities. We also offer excellent ICT facilities with a designated ICT suite at both sites and class sets of iPad minis in every year group.
Our Childcare Provision
There are four nursery classes (two morning and two afternoon sessions) and three classes in every year group from reception to Year 6 at our Thamesmead site.
At our smaller Royal Arsenal site there is one class in each year group. Currently we have Year 1,2,3,4 and 5, reception and two nursery classes. This site will expand by one class each year, up to Year 6, by September 2017.
