About Us
St Joseph's In The Park is a one form entry IAPS registered independent Prep School located in glorious parkland in Hertingfordbury, on the outskirts of Hertford. We are an all round school offering a broad curriculum and exciting opportunities so that the children are inspired and aspire to do their best. Our children do achieve great success when applying for their secondary schools and many have been awarded scholarships but, as well as traditional academic subjects, St Joseph's ensures that art, drama, music and sport are nurtured ensuring that every child has the opportunity to shine. Our children are also well supported in a caring family atmosphere with outstanding pastoral care.
The achievements of the school were clearly endorsed by an 'Excellent in all areas' by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in 2014.
Our Childcare Provision
We accept boys and girls into our Pre-School at the beginning of the term they turn three and they remain until aged 11 (Year 6). The school day starts at 8.30am and ends at 3.15pm for Pre-School and Infants and 4pm for Juniors. We have a Prep (homework) Class until 5pm for Juniors and we also offer Breakfast Club from 7.30am and After School Care until 6pm, to support working parents. We also run a variety of holiday clubs which help with childcare for some of the school holidays.
