About Us
The Rosary Catholic Primary School has one class per year group (no mixed age classes) and became a voluntary academy in September 2011. The school has a distinctive Christian ethos, but welcomes families whatever their faith or background. (About 55% of our pupils are baptised Catholics). The school is part of the Stroud Catholic parish of The Immaculate Conception and also has links with St Joseph's Catholic Church in Stonehouse. We are a member of the Gloucestershire Catholic Schools Partnership, with a strong association with St. Peter's Catholic High School, which many of our Y6 pupils move on to, whether they are Catholic or not. Otherwise, our pupils go to the local Grammar schools-Marling and Stroud High School for Girls or comprehensives such as Archway or Thomas Keble. The Rosary School is part of a local Stroud based cluster of Primary Schools and we share training and ideas regularly.
Our school Mission Statement is "We do our best, following in the footsteps of Jesus" and our vision is for "Happy, confident children, achieving their full potential within a creative and inclusive Christian learning environment". To this end, Class Teachers plan lessons that enhance learning by linking different areas of the curriculum within a creative topic. We also provide regular Forest School sessions for each class, so that children enjoy learning outdoors and develop their team building and problem solving skills. The school has very good provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and has a Pastoral Support Worker to offer help to children with emotional needs and their parents.
Visitors to the school are very welcome at any time. Please call the school office to make an appointment (01453) 872774 or email admin@rosary.gloucs.sch.uk .
