About Me
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read through my profile.
My name is Jenny and I have been working within nurseries for over 11+ years- both as a hands-on practitioner, and a manager, working with all age groups.
I am 43 years old and live with my husband, Simon, along with our three dogs, all cocker spaniels called Duke, Riley and Bonnie in Bearwood, Bournemouth. Duke, Riley and Bonnie have been brought up around children and babies and are super loving and cuddly. I opened Mini Badgers in September 2020 which was the best decision I have made.
Starting from January 2024, my husband Simon will be working alongside me as my full-time assistant. Over the years he has supported me since I started my journey as a childminder and I am very excited that we will be working together.
We firmly believe that children should be able to explore our outdoor environment as much as possible. Immersion in nature has so many benefits for children's development; teaching them to care about the environment; helping them sleep better at night; developing their motor skills, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. To facilitate these, we will be doing regular trips to nature reserves, parks, beaches and forest areas.
At home, We have a playroom packed with a variety of toys, arts and crafts,books and we use the living room for children to sleep. We also have a back garden with garden toys, sand and water play, a slide, trees to climb, mud kitchen and an area to grow fruit and vegetables.
We will be working closely with other, local childminders so your children benefit from both a smaller home-from-home setting and larger group gatherings too. We are passionate about our roles and love being able to help children explore, play, learn and guide them to their full potential.
We also attend regular training courses to allow us to continue to develop our knowledge and remain up to date with current legislation and any changes.
Opening hours are 8.00-17.30 Monday to Friday. Flexible to start a little earlier if needed

Jenny is brilliant with the kids, and has an amazing set up. She has a forest school in the garden, and is so passionate about childcare. There are new themed tables set up for the kids every week , my little girl settled in straight away.

My daughter started with Jenny this month and we couldn’t be happier with the care she has received! Jenny is so welcoming and gets to know the children and their individual interests making everyday fun. We receive photos everyday showing us what they are getting up to and the beautiful doggy’s are an added bonus! Highly recommend!

My daughter has been with Jenny 10 months now and she loves going there, she is extremely happy. Jenny spends a lot of time, thought and effort into all the activities the children do & all the nice places that they go. She is very friendly & kind, her dedication to her role is amazing, the children are her priority & my daughter gets very excited when she knows she is going to Jenny's house which gives me piece of mind. Jenny is very professional and communicates really well.

My little one has been with Jenny for just over 3 months and he is so happy. Jenny is a kind, positive and professional childminder who has made my son and us feel so welcome and supported. The things she does with my son, from daily walks on the beach or in the woods to look for creepy crawlies, to activities at home like art, playing and cooking have been brilliant. We've seen him develop so much since he's been with her. And he adores Duke who is just the loveliest dog.

As soon as we met Jenny we knew she was the childminder for us and that has only been confirmed since they started! She’s warm, friendly and really cares about the children she is looking after. She has created a lovely home from home environment where she sets up gorgeous tough tray play (we’ve already seen seasonal activities as well as dinosaurs and under the sea exploration!) She puts a lot of thought into the activities she does and my children are clearly having lots of fun! Jenny is also incredibly organised and has maintained a high level of communication with us which shows how dedicated she is to providing the best for her families.
