About Me
My name is Leah Ellison and Ive been a childcare professional for the past 15 years. Starting from September 2024 I will be working with my daughter Rae who is undertaking a apprenticeship with my setting.
I live in the Great Barr area and provide childcare in my home, I love looking after children, inspiring them in playful development, following the children's interests, you can be assured that with me with me your children will be happy, content and in safe hands.
We have a pet dog called Kimi she's a Shih tzu who are very much loved by adults and children within the household.
I am registered with Ofsted and insured with Childcare.co.uk
My Experience
I am a mother of two now 20 and 15yrs of age and I have also looked after children, on college placements in a variety of different area’s ranging from schools, children centre’s, working within the community as a nursery nurse and hospitals.
I encourage a lot of outdoor play and adventures, story-time, book club, group play, craft time, music and rhymes.

My Availability
I offer a full childminding service for children 0yrs to 5yrs, (I DO NOT OFFER SCHOOL RUNS) I take children from 7:00am till 6:00pm Monday to Thursday term time ONLY!
I also offer full meal service including breakfast, lunch and snacks. If your child has any special dietary requirements I can also cater for this.
Unavailable for Bank holidays, Term Time Holidays and 2 weeks Vacation Period (on the rare occasion it may.occur in term-time)

We were really lucky to find Leah. Finding ourselves stuck for childcare due to unforeseen circumstances she rescued us and was able to accommodate the hours and days we needed. Our daughter has had a great time with her and we've been more than happy with the care provided. Leah regularly takes the kids out and advises on milestones and what we can do to help our daughter develop.

Both of our children absolutely love going to Leah’s each day. She provides engaging and educational activities and a wonderful environment for them both. Leah takes them to the park regularly, on days out to the library and to playgroup. These experiences really make our children’s day. Our children always comes home with lovely things that he has made and learnt all about. They bake regularly and have even created a cookbook with lovely photos and recipes. I’d absolutely recommend Leah to anyone and we feel very fortunate to have found her.

Where to start… As a new mum back in 2015 I searched high and low for someone in a setting I’d trust enough to care for my son. Working in education myself I knew how important the right environment and adults were in shaping those all important early years. Seven years later, after seeing both of our children through their preschool years, I can wholeheartedly say we have been blessed to have found such a special person who has cared for our children as if they were her own. Leah focuses on all areas of development and tirelessly and selflessly puts so much time and love into all she does with the children. They’ve enjoyed such a calm and happy setting in which they’ve developed important social skills and have experienced such a wide range of activities, absolutely thriving in her care. We are forever grateful for this time the children have shared and for the many memories made along the way. If you’re reading this and in any doubt, then I hope you’re reassured by my words and too can experience such a wonderful start for your children.

Leah looked after my eldest daughter from the age of 1 until 4, when she left to start school. We were all sad for her to move onto big school and leave Leah but she left with such a breadth of skills and with so much confidence, ready for the next steps thanks to Leah. She loved everyday she spent at Leah’s and it was reassuring leaving her each day knowing she’d be having amazing experiences, growing, learning and having such fun with all her friends. We couldn’t recommend Leah more!

Leah is brilliant at her job, my son has settled in so well within such a short amount of time. They are always doing activities such as rhyme time, story time and book club! I never worry about him when he is there because I know he is so well looked after. I love the fact leah sends daily updates including photos on activities they have done throughout the day. Such a homely environment with a lovely family.

Thank you, I'm so pleased that he has settled in so well. He is a absolute joy to care for!
My 2 kids spent time at Leah's for 3 years before school twice weekly. My kids loved their time here and I feel so sad that this time is over( on to secondary school) I felt like I was leaving my kids with a friend or family member not a childminder. They always seemed to do something in a short space of time between breakfast and the school run, projects on space or lots of craft activities ( over the moon at mother's Day, Xmas etc) how they fitted it in I will never know! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Leah , such a lovely place , family run ,friendly and super professional!
