About Me

I'm married to Mark and we have two grown up sons and two young grandchildren.

Mark’s line of work has enabled us to live abroad for many years so we’ve been fortunate enough to visit many countries; this has given us a fantastic out-look on life.
After 14 moves we’ve finally bought our own home in the beautiful Shropshire hills and plan to stay here for a very long time!

We very much enjoy the outdoors, particularly trekking and hill climbing and are passionate about travelling and seeing the World.
We equally have fun when all the family are ‘home’; either enjoying the great outdoors or indoors cooking meals together, chatting, playing board games and watching family films.

Voluntary community work and raising money for charities is close to my heart. I also enjoy cooking, listening to music, attending concerts, the theatre and cinema trips; as well as spending precious time with our extended family and close friends.

I’m a calm natured, warm hearted, genuine person who’s very honest, trust worthy, reliable, dedicated and hard-working. I’m extremely passionate about caring for and teaching children.

My Experience

As well as being a Mum to my two (grown up) sons and Granny to my two young Grandchildren (who I see regularly), I have 35+ years childcare experience; caring for children from newborn to 16 years.

Previous posts include: a full-time live-in Nanny in London, a registered child-minder and an orphanage carer overseas. I have set up many rooms from scratch in nurseries and pre-schools and have managed a nursery abroad.

Before moving to Church Stretton I worked as a supply Teaching Assistant in the local village school in Shawbury as well as supervising in the Before, After and Holiday School Club. Alongside that I was involved in voluntary community and welfare work.
The previous few years I have worked locally for families, both as a Mothers Help, a school holiday Nanny and most recently as a Childminder’s Assistant; as well as voluntary welfare work in the local neighbourhood.

I'm looking for a part-time, live-out Nanny position (ideally between 15-25 hours), where I can fit into a busy family’s life and assist with the needs of the children in their own environment; offering care, nurturing and 1:1 interaction.

I work in the Royal Air Force and require to work unsociable working hours; early mornings and late evenings. I employed Mandy as my childminder to help and take my 2 young girls to and from nursery and also for babysitting. I was so grateful for Mandy to be introduced to me. Mandy comes to your home to look after the children, which suited me for what I required. My girls took Mandy as she is a very lovely, kind natured lady who you can tell has professionally worked with children. I watched and saw occasionally on my way out to work how she entertained my eldest with jigsaws and my youngest happily playing away. Mandy had a lovely manner with children. Every time my girls saw Mandy they got excited that she was coming to look after them. Mandy in the morning changed nappies, cleaned, dressed and gave children breakfast then took them to nursery. She took them born to there classes, hung coats and bags up and professionally handed them over to nursery workers. In the evening she collected them, bathed them, read stories and put them to bed. This was done with no issues and I always felt reassured my girls were in good hands. Mandy always notified me by text that they were at nursery and all was on also when they were all tucked up in bed. I highly recommend Mandy, she has a great experience as a past nursery manager and many years working with children that shows. Your children will love her.

Mandy would have been a perfect Nanny for our family. Our circumstances changed and we no longer required childcare at all, but Mandy would have been our first choice. I've met with her a number of times and have always found her to be professional, but friendly and approachable. She is clearly knowledgeable about children and their development and passionate about her work. What surprised me in particular is that my two year old is often shy and sometimes uncooperative around strangers. Within minutes of meeting Mandy he was happily playing and chatting with her, and has always been pleased to see her. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mandy in any role.
