About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and was awarded outstanding on my last inspection. I am also a Quality Assured Childminder and was awarded my accreditation in March 2017. I'm a busy mum of two children aged 17 and 19 and have been happily married for 20 years. I currently look several lovely young children (part time) and always welcome new enquiries. These can be full time, part time or before and after school.
I work with a registered and approved assistant and with another lovely local Childminder. We work together to provide a warm home environment for your little ones. My husband and my daughter are also a registered and approved assistant so that I can offer continuous care should my first assistant be unable to work. We all have CRB's and up to date first aid certificates.
We have a nice sized house, with a nice sized garden, with a dedicated playroom where we have lots of lovely toys and spend our days doing whatever the children would like as well as planned activities, i.e. cooking, painting, reading along with visits to farms, parks, playgroups, etc. I follow the EYFS and carry out regular observations on children in my care. I regularly attend local playgroups and meet up with other mummies/childminders so that children can gain maximum benefit of socialising of others in their own age group.
We currently cover after school collections from Thorpe Lea and Manorcroft. We would consider other pre schools and schools not currently covered as long as it fits in with the current arrangements so please don't hesitate to ask. Due to some of my little ones moving onto the next stage, starting school, I will have a vacancy coming up.
Our home is a smoke free zone and we have tropical fish as pets.

I have some after school vacancies (Thorpe Lea School) and will have a vacancy Tuesday to Thursday for the Early Years - I'm happy to consider term time only or less than three days (minimum of two days ideally tho will consider less if it fits in with other requests I might have)

My Fees

we accept all childcare vouchers and are happy to register for those we don't already take - I'm also registered to receive payments from the new government tax free childcare scheme. I can offer holiday cover for £25 per day (based on 8am to 5pm - trips are extra and no food included) and ad hoc childcare (if this fits in with our numbers) and take after school children from various local schools in the area but first priority would be Thorpe Lea School in Huntingfield Way. I'm happy to do school holiday club wrap around care as well if needed. I currently drop and collect from Koosa in Manorcroft School and Egham Orbit and would consider other clubs if it fits in with our schedule.
I am also registered for FEET and the early years funding. In order qualify for FEET children should meet the criteria and is for children aged 2 to 3. For the early years funding, this is applied in the term after the child's 3rd birthday and I can apply for the 15 or 30 hour funding if needed and am happy to share the funded hours with other settings who can't offer the full 30 hours.. Parents should check with their local authority for more details.

Jo and her family provide a welcoming environment based on family values. She cared for my son from the age of 9 months, up to and including before and after school care. He has thoroughly enjoyed the wide range of fun, yet educational activities that Jo offers and absolutely loves going to Jo's. I would recommend Jo as a very caring childminder who puts the child's needs first.

Jo has been looking after our eldest Son in the mornings and dropping off as well as picking up after school, 4 days a week for 3.5 years now. We were looking for a local childminder and she was recommended by a friend.
Jo really cares for the safety, welfare and happiness of all her kids, her home environment is very good, the kids respect her, both our boys love spending time with her (and Paul and the kids). She has been an integral part of our children's development, and a key part of our lives as parents.
We would be happy to recommend Jo to anyone!

Jo picks my daughter from school and look after her in a very caring and loving environment. She offers lots of activities and every day is never the same. She is also a great relay with school and keeps me inform of all communication with the teacher. Would definitely recommend her.

Jo looked after our two children over a period of two years and has remained a much-loved part of their lives since. Along with her husband and children, she has created an amazing family environment where all the children in her care feel safe, supported and nurtured. The range of activities and facilities available in her home means there is always a stimulating option for every child, regardless of age or interests. She is highly recommended.

Jo looked after my son for a year before he started school and he loved going there every day. Jo did many activities with him to help prepare him for school and even had him starting to write is name. The setting was always fun, cosy, clean and lively as well as structured and relaxing. The communication between the parent and childminder was excellent and Jo was always flexible if need be too. She would sometimes look after my daughter on an adhoc basis as well as extra hours for my son at the last minute. I would recommend Jo highly.
