About Me
My name is Hayley McCann, I am a fully registered childminder and also a member with the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA). We live in a very happy home and provide a welcoming family orientated environment for the children. I am a mother of 3 grown up children. I have 2 daughters and one son. My eldest daughter works in Financial Crime, my youngest daughter is a Physiotherapist and my son is a Firefighter. Our son still lives at home with my husband and I. We live in a bungalow with a large secure garden, which allows the children to enjoy playing outdoors in a safe space. I have worked with children over the last 20 years. I find caring for children extremely rewarding and enjoy watching them grow and develop their own individual personalities. I always aim to provide a high standard of care for all children, by providing a home from home.
My Experience
As a childminder, I always aim to provide a stimulating and exciting environment for the children to enhance their cognitive development, by engaging them in fun activities specific to their age. As a parent, I am aware that children thrive on being able to participate in a variety of fun activities. I tend to plan at least one or two outdoor activities each day for example, we go to toddlers, soft play, local play parks, singing/dance classes and experience visits to the local library. When in my house I also encourage arts and crafts, read to the children and there will be lots of learning through play, whilst indoors and out in the garden. Prior to being a childminder, I have previously worked for multiple years treating children as a dental nurse in the dental/orthodontic industry. In this role, I treated children of every age on a daily basis and I had a vital role in teaching them the importance of caring for their teeth and engaging them in conversation, specific to their age. I also previously had my own dance school, where I taught all types of dance to children age two upwards.

My little boy attended Hayley’s care three times a week for over 1.5 years, and he was absolutely obsessed with her. He would talk about her at home and always looked forward to going to her when Mummy and Daddy had to work. Hayley was not just a childminder; she was a therapist and a friend all in one. I always felt confident knowing my child was in safe hands.
Her calming energy was infectious, and I truly believe she helped shape my little boy into the kind and caring child he is today. She always felt like home to us — like part of our extended family. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Hayley is just amazing! She absolutely adores the children in her care and they adore her! She’s got so much energy and has them all outside whatever the weather. Our little boy just loves going to her. Can’t recommend her highly enough. Can’t imagine our next child going to anyone else, we’ve been spoilt with her!
