About Me
My name is Carey McKenzie and I have four daughters Lana, Stella, Raya and Cora. My husband is called Robert and we have been together for a long time! We have a lovely family pet dog called Forrest who loves all the children.
I am a registered childminder through SCSWIS and my husband Robert, my oldest daughter Lana and myself are all fully disclosed through Disclosure Scotland (PVG Scheme).
My normal working hours are around 8am till 5.00pm but this can be discussed. I can also pick up and drop off at/from Kelvindale Primary School and some local nurseries. I can also provide funded places for eligible 2's and funded hours for 3-5 year olds.
I am a very friendly and caring person who loves children. I have lots of toys, do different activities with the children and have a fully enclosed garden with lots of toys for outdoor play. I am currently studying at university towards a BA in Early Learning and Childcare.

My Experience
I have been actively childminding since October 2013 and I have 4 children of my own so have lots of experience with babies and young children. I have been registered since October 2011 but took time out to have my own family and move house but now we are settled, I am really enjoying working with children.
My mum has been a childminder for over 30 years so I have always been brought up around lots of children and in the childminding field so I feel I have experience from a young age. I also get together with other childminders in the Kelvindale area so we have lots of interaction and experiences with each other as well as play dates with all the children to meet new people and friends. As well as regular meetings and get-togethers with the other childminders, we also like to go to soft play, the local parks and many other activities where the kids can interact and play and we can share new ideas and information.
My Qualifications
I am currently at university on a Friday doing a GA BA Early Learning and Childcare degree which is work-based so I am constantly learning and improving my skills, setting and knowledge while working with children.
I also have a degree in Criminology - BSc Criminology Graduated July 2008
I am a fully qualified pool lifeguard - NPLQ
I am also a swimming teacher/coach - Level 1 Teaching Aquatics
Paediatric First Aid - updated every 3 years
Food Hygiene Level 3 and registered as a Food Business
