My Summary
About Me
I am an enthusiastic, energetic, creative individual who loves to aid with the development of children and provide fun activities for them. I find childcare extremely rewarding and enjoyable and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
I am very reliable only having 6 occasions off due to sickness all of my working and schooling life from 4 years old to present.
In my leisure time i enjoy reading, creating artwork, singing and listening to live music.
My Experience
I have experience with all ages from 3 months to 13 years old, and have worked with children since 2011.
From September 2009 to April 2011 I worked each Saturday for a children’s free play club, namely Fort Apache. I started as a volunteer but became a paid employee of the organisation in April 2009. This is set in the woodland area of Hele Village where the children have helped build tree houses and therefore gain self worth and self esteem when playing in this environment. It was my job to help promote a safe and fun experience for children. There were children of all ages from 4 through to 15 and the children are of all needs and abilities (many of the children suffer from ADHD).
From August 2009 to February 2011 I was a Scout Leader briefly for Cub Scouts and then Beaver Scouts (ages 6 to 8) for 3rd Newton Abbot. I volunteered 5-7 hours at least each week. I worked my way up to become the head leader. It was my responsibility to plan the sessions and run these with the help of another Beaver leader and adult helpers. The sessions were very structured play activities and the children achieved badges through the activities they did. In the summer the children were taken on outdoor activities to play and explore.
From May 2011 to August 2017 i worked in a nursery as a Nursery Nurse with children from 3 months to 5 years old. The room i mostly worked in was 2-5 years but i often covered in the baby room.
I left the nursery to start up my own business as a self employed child care provider as i had a lot of people interested in me providing care to their children. I worked self employed as a nanny from September 2017 to March 2019 for around 6 families a week which includes a range of ages. I like to take the children on trips, play groups, the zoo etc. We go out somewhere nearly every day. I also help out families who need the occasional care. I am very flexible and try to accommodate everyone.
I have been Ofsted Registered as a childminder since March 2019. I have converted the bottom floor of my house into a play space for the children, a small toilet area and space for nappy changing and i use our car port as an outside sheltered space for the children for water play, sand, messy play. This area is secured by a child gate at the entrance for younger children. Our kitchen is also used where i set up a small table for the children to sit at while they eat or cook at or do craft or painting activities.
I have an NVQ3 in Childcare, Learning and Development and First Aid also a valid CRB check. I have completed Childminding in Torbay course and I have also completed an Awareness of Autism course. I regularly go on courses to improve my practice and knowledge.
I have also helped on several projects for Play Torbay who are a children’s charity who work to promote and provide play opportunities within Torbay. I have worked on several projects within their charity, namely doorstep adventures.
My Qualifications

Our daughter was only with Becca for a short time but in that time Becca was so lovely. Our daughter took to her very quickly and thoroughly enjoyed her time with Becca. Becca’s communication was on point and she was extremely understanding when we had to end her services. Would highly recommend.
Becca is amazing person.
Very responsible, careful, caring... Simple the best.
Our son Leo loves her.. Keeps talking about adventures, ideas she had.
Top class Childminder.
Thank you Becca
Becca has been looking after our daughter for over 2 years now and they've formed a lovely bond.
My daughter loves seeing her and enjoys the playroom and outdoor play at Beccas home setting and especially the visits and days out Becca kindly organises for them. These include Zoo trips, the beach, play groups, picnics, Trago and Woodlands to name just a few.
Becca's always creative with the play themes for Easter Halloween, Christmas etc and she has always supported us with our daughter when we've made changes to sleep patterns and started potty training.
We've all been really happy with Becca from the start and the flexibility she's ben able to offer including drop offs and pick ups. We highly recommend Becca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Becca is a very sweet calm person but has complete control of groups of children which all are very happy in her care. Becca looked after my son for over a year and took him on many adventures to woodlands, the zoo, the beach, crealy and even on his first cinema trip. My son loved to go to Becca’s as the activities were endless. I would more than highly recommend her.
Becca has been looking after my 4-year-old for the last six months (since she was 3). My daughter loves going to Becca's, where she always does fun activities and plays with a fantastic range of toys in Becca's dedicated playroom. Becca has also taken her on lots of great days out, ranging from picnics to trips to the museum and going crabbing etc. She also offers to collect or drop off your child, which has been an invaluable extra service for us. I can highly recommend Becca if you're looking for a childminder.
