Welcome to Zebra's Tots. I have three sons who I totally adore. I decided to fulfil my ambition and go into the field of childcare which I am very passionate about. This was after working in the City of London in the finance sector for 13 long years. In terms of struggles that parents go through trying to juggle work and life. I've experienced this first hand so I completely understand and will do my very best to be as flexible as I can in regards to your childcare needs. I am also able to spend more time with my boys which is a huge added bonus. Everyday is guaranteed to be filled with fun, happiness, laughter and loving care.
I live in Basildon, Lee Chapel North. I am 5 minutes walk from Janet Duke Primary School.
My garden is very child friendly with lots of age appropriate activities. The main play area is a dedicated conservatory purely used as a nursery which is bright colourful and filled with toys and lots more exciting things!
I have two assistants who are a huge help.
They are both safeguarding trained and qualified, Paediatric first aid qualified and both have enhanced clear DBS checks.
My Experience
I enjoy every moment of being in the company of the children. As my mum and sister are also childminders and also own a day nursery, I have grown up in a childminding home. I have a broad knowledge, understanding and experience of childcare. All children are treated as one of the family in our home. Lots of fun and laughter is guaranteed in our home. Activities daily such as arts and crafts, cooking with all children who get to take samples home for mum/dad/carer or siblings. We also visit parks and play games indoors and outdoors.
Activities are also featured around Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Halloween, Birthdays etc.. There are too many to list :)
I also cater for children who have food allergies i.e. Wheat, dairy or celiac etc... I work very closely alongside parents, taking into account every child's dietary needs.
Weekly tasting sessions are now being introduced encouraging the children to sample different fruits/vegetables as part of healthy eating.
Photographs are taken whilst children learn (with parents/permission & consent) these will form part of the child's learning journey folder which parents will keep once completed. Also parents are provided with a daily contact book stating the activities their child have completed that day, the food they ate, the times they slept etc.. This will give parents a full 'picture' of their child's day.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour

All Meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) are included in my fees throughout the day plus mid morning and mid afternoon
We are now a FEEE registered provider for 3 & 4 year olds as well as 2 year olds (15 & 30 hour funding- subject to eligibility)
We accept various work place voucher schemes.

Zehra is professional, caring and accommodating person. She has accommodated my son on many occasions when I was getting late, when I had to choose shifts suddenly.

Our Daughter has attended Zebras Tots for 2,5 years.
We were always worried about where to send her as she was so young but at Zebras she had a wonderful time. Always went in with a big smile and came out also with a smile.
They were always very creative in terms of activities, special occasions ( Halloween, Christmas, Fathers/Mothers day, etc.), and at the same time preparing our daughter to move to reception.
We always appreciated flexibility around our busy schedules, spotless clean setting and delicious, freshly cooked food.
I would like to say BIG thank you to Zehra and Jade for all their hard work, love and attention they gave to our daughter.
I highly recommend Zebras Tots !

Zehra is a very friendly and approachable childminder. She keeps all parents and carers well informed on updates, upcoming activities, menu changes etc.
My daughter has attended Zebra Tots since she was 11 months and she will continue going there for before and after school club now that she’s in reception.
To ease being a new mom and heading back to work, she has kept me updated with lots of pictures throughout the first few months - and continues to do so which I greatly appreciate.
Being in the teaching profession myself, I value all of the educational activities and experiences that she has created for my daughter over the years - catering to her interests.
I must also give a special shout out to Zehra’s assistant - Jade. She joined ZT a year ago and my daughter absolutely loves her! She’s very kind and patient. From what my daughter brought home, I can see that her lessons were relevant and fun.
Overall, I would recommend Zebra Tots to any parent/carer that may be looking for a home away from home.

Zehra provided after school pick up and care for my son for 5 years plus. She is caring and loving. Supported me when needing emergency pick up. My son loved her setting as she cooks hot meals.

Zehra has been an outstanding childminder for my son, caring for him since he was just 7 months old. Over the past four years, she has created a warm, nurturing environment that made my son feel secure and cherished. From the very beginning, Zehra has demonstrated an incredible ability to connect with children, understanding their unique personalities and catering to their individual needs.
One of Zehra’s many strengths is how she nurtured my son’s interests and curiosity. Whether through creative arts, learning through play or outdoor exploration, Zehra always found ways to support and encourage his passions. Her dedication to his development was evident in the thoughtful activities she planned and the personal attention she provided. Now, as my son enters his reception year, I can confidently say he is well-equipped for this new chapter, thanks to Zehra’s guidance and care.
A special mention must also go to Jade, Zehra’s wonderful assistant, who played a crucial role in my son’s learning. Jade has a deep love for animals and the environment, which she beautifully shared with my son. Thanks to Jade, he developed a strong appreciation for nature and learned so much about different animals and how to care for the world around him. Jade’s lessons were always engaging and fun, leaving a lasting impact on my son’s understanding of the environment.
Both Zehra and Jade are not only caring but also professional and reliable. They have been consistent, positive influences in my son’s life, and their impact on his growth and readiness for school is something I am incredibly grateful for.
I would highly recommend Zehra and Jade to any parent looking for trustworthy, nurturing, and inspiring childminders. Thank you both for the wonderful care you’ve given our family!
