About Me
Hi, my name is Emma.
I'm a childminder based in central Eastleigh near Grantham park.
I have twin daughters that attend Crestwood school.
I live in a terraced house with a garden full of children's entertainment and learning opportunities.
I like to go out and about a lot with those I care for, we go to different playgroups which I think this is important part of socialising for children. I also have a Marwell pass which I use frequently, we visit farms, the beach, the forest and Hilliers gardens at Romsey amongest other places. We enjoying being outside and spend a lot of time there especially in the summer.
At home I have a wide range of toys and craft materials and love to get the children involved in messy play.
I have worked in childcare since 1999 in different nurseries and spent time as toddler room supervisor. I enjoyed my nursery life but find that childminding gives a greater freedom for learning experiences and life skills.
I enjoy the lower ratio of adult to child that childminding can offer to children.
My Experience
Before having my own twins I worked in nurseries for 12 years. I worked in all age range rooms and supervised the 2-3 year old room for many years.
I have now been childminding for over 8 years.
My Qualifications
I have a diploma in childcare and education (NNEB) which I received after finishing secondary school.
I have continued to update and learn new childcare developments ever since including a level 4 NVQ in childcare.
I have up to date first aid and safeguarding training.
I frequently update my knowledge with training and reading new material regarding child development and childminding practice.
My Availability
Im currently full but have Monday and Thursday spaces from September 2024

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour

I am able to offer government funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
I accept a wide range of childcare vouchers such as care4, Sodexo and Edenred and am registered for the government voucher scheme.
My Local Schools

Emma was brilliant at supporting my twins during their last year before primary school. She expertly created opportunities for the twin with additional needs to stretch his expectations whilst ensuring that his brother had a fun, educational time.
They had lots of day outs that I wasn’t able to do including the zoo, the beach, the library and splashing in the river. Every day was fun and they still talk about their time with Emma 18 months later.

My daughter has been looked after by Emma for the past 3 years and I can honesty say i am so glad i found her! Emma goes above and beyond to make sure my daughter is looked after, happy, content, learning, playing, social, etc. The days out alone are a massive highlight! My daughter absolutely loves being looked after by Emma and her social skills are brilliant, thanks to Emma. I couldnt recommend Trues Troops enough. A gem to find :)

I dont think I can describe in enough words how amazing Emma has been with my daughter. She always keeps her occupied visiting lots of play groups and different places like marwell, hilliers etc. She really has a special way of knowing a child's interests and let's them explore it in a fun environment. My daughter was diagnosed with selective mutism and Emma went above and beyond to learn about it and attend online sessions and try all techniques we were doing at home without this I don't feel that my daughter would have made as much progress as she has and be as ready for school as she is now. Emma really does make her house a home from home environment and my daughter is sad to be leaving and so are we. I wish I had considered a childminder with my eldest children and not pre schools as she has really thrived and has still had lots of social contact with other children and been able to visit some amazing places. Just overall a great experience for my daughter to have had!

Emma has looked after our little ones for over 6 years, we hesitated at first not putting our little one in a nursery to get her ready for school but by far it was the best decision we made. All 3 of our children have loved being with Emma. We were so impressed with the range of activities that they do whilst at True’s troops as well as how well she helped them in their learning and getting ready for school transition. It was a great comfort to know that they were having such a lovely time. True’s troops is fantastic!!

Emma has looked after 2 of my children over a period of 6/7 years. They have both thrived and loved being with her, every day they do something different, lots of fun, caring and trustworthy. Would highly recommend her!
