Cala Childcare is an Ofsted registered childminding business run by myself.
I live with my husband Mark, a Project Surveyor and my son Thomas, a Heavy Plant Fitter. I have 2 well behaved dogs Archie and Luna, a cat called Molly, a tortoise called Wilson and a bearded dragon Freddie. We are a mostly outdoor setting enjoying daily trips to the woods, parks, Hamble farm, the beach, Hilliers Arboretum, and the library. We meet up with fellow childminders on a regular basis which in turn helps the children to socialise and make many friends. My setting is a cosy, safe and fun environment which encourages the children to explore the world around them whilst integrating the EYFS into our daily activities, thus ensuring they are fully equipped for their future journey on to school.
My Experience
I have previously worked 24 years within the NHS as an Health Care Assistant and have experience of mothering my own children, Grandchildren and caring for my younger Nieces and Nephews. I started childminding in 2014 and have completed many courses to enhance my knowledge and understanding of the Early Years and their needs.
My Qualifications
CYPOP 5
Paediatric First Aid
Safeguarding.
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene ( City and Guilds ).
E.Y.F.S. Plain English.
Childcare level 3
EYPD course ( in progress)
My Availability
My availability is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30-5:30. I am flexible regarding drop-off and pick-up times with prior arrangement to accommodate shift-work etc. I have off street parking to allow for safe drop-off and pick-up.

Our daughter is three and a half and has a wonderful time every single day at Chris' place. There is a wide choice of quality toys to play with and Chris plans art and craft activities to provide opportunities to be creative.
It is a cosy home, where my child feels safe and well looked after.
Among other things, Chris organizes to visit story time at the library on a regular basis and attends a childminding group in order to meet other childminders and children. Thanks to all these outings, my daughter makes new friends and has a vibrant social life. I would recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for a childminder who is calm, but active and welcomes children as if they were family.
