Hello, my name is Louise Hobbs. I live in the Lakeside area of Glascote, Tamworth Staffs, close to the A5 bypass. Lakeside Community Primary School is within walking distance and there is a regular bus service in operation.
I run my childcare business from my home, a semi-detached property situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. I offer a very rich learning environment both in and outdoors. We have a dedicated playroom, downstairs w.c and fully enclosed rear garden with a permanent purpose built under cover area, offering free flow outdoor play everyday no matter what the weather. I have a seperate sleeping area for babies and younger children. I provide great emphasis on providing stimulating resources which are accessible and open-ended, encouraging learning through exploratory play. I supply my own pushchairs, car seats, high chairs and travel cots as well as clean bedding. All resources and equipment are maintained to a very high standard.
I hold a full driving licence and own a seven seater people carrier so we can take full advantage of visits to country parks both locally and further afield.
My Experience
Since registering with Ofsted in 2004 I have worked alongside many families, offering full and part-time care both term-time and during school holidays. I have cared for children aged from babies through to 11 years old.
As part of my registration I have undergone a CBR check (Criminal Records Bureau).
I offer a very flexible and personal service, closely following routines already established at home. I accommodate school runs to and from Lakeside Community Primary School.
I work closely with parents and school to ensure transitions are very well-supported. Siblings can be cared for at the same time if places available.

My daughter started with Lou Lou back in September 2023 when I went back to work. I was very nervous about having someone look after her after an awful experience of nursery with my eldest but I needn’t of worried as my daughter absolutely loves her time there and Lou Lou has been fantastic in her communication with me about what the children have been doing, providing me with regular updates and in her care of her.
The children are incredibly lucky to have a lovely environment to play and learn in and Lou has worked very hard to create a beautiful and stimulating environment for them to thrive in. Her approach and passion for learning enables her to create fantastic and varied activities for the children in her care to engage with throughout the day.
My daughter is always happy and excited to go to Lou Lou’s and is full of beans when I collect her. She is progressing well in her development and Lou Lou is always as excited as I am when my daughter does something new or meets a milestone.
I consider placing my daughter with Louise to be the best decision I could have made for both myself and for my daughter. She couldn’t be in safer hands.
Lou is an amazing childminder, she is caring, professional and such a kind person, as soon as I met her I didn't need to look elsewhere as she makes you feel comfortable and provides a home from home environment. Lou communicates daily with day to day activities, the food she has eaten. We always look forward to the photos.
My little one has been coming here since she was 1 and she settled in from day 1. She has grown in confidence and has learned so many things over the years, the seaons, counting, colours are just a few things.
Lou always spends time reading books which is important for a child, my little one loves books, especially 'zog'and will spend hours at home reading them,She will often tell me about the book which lou has read to her that day. Lou does regular visits to the library which allows the children to meet new friends, read books and play dressing up.
My little one loves going to Lous, she loves the outdoors, learning about nature, smelling flowers, baking, going to the park and lots of messy play. Lou is a safe space for her which is really important. She looks forward to going to Lous daily.
We can't thank Louise enough for the care she has provided over the years and would recommend to anyone.
Louise is the most wonderful childminder that you could wish for!
When I first started looking for childcare, I knew I wanted my daughter to go somewhere which was a home from home. I wanted her to be given time, care and hugs if needed. My daughter still goes to Louise’s and has been for the last 2years.
Louise is professional, kind, supportive and provides a stimulating environment. She has fantastic knowledge of the children in her care. She encourages children to learn about the world around them, explore through play and engage in creative activities. Louise provides a safe and engaging environment indoors and outdoors at her lovely family home.
My daughter loves ‘Lou Lou’ days. She has learned so much and has grown in confidence. She has made lots of friends too. My daughter enjoys her visits to the library, local parks and the zoo.
Louise communicates with us about what she’s eaten, done and celebrates successes with us. We look forward to receiving photos of her time there too.
Both my husband and I would highly recommend Louise.
I was apprehensive about using a childminders due to a bad experience but Louise is more than a child minder she genuinely loves her job, cares about the children she looks after and is a true professional. Louise is very active and gets the children involved in nature, going on bug hunts at local parks, growing vegetables and sunflowers with the children in her lovely garden and takes them on bear hunts and helps develop a love of books by taking them to the library with their own library cards so they can select their books, she helped my son prepare for school by teaching him to write his name, phonics and counting and letter recognition. Although my son is now at school he asks about Louise daily and can't wait to see her in the school holidays. Louise has a lovely family, home and garden and in my view also simply the best x
My daughter has been with Louise for over 3 years now, she started when she was 7 months old, from the first meeting I had no doubts about leaving her with Louise.
Daisy now counts down the days until she can go! On a Wednesday they go to the group where she has lots of fun and meets lots of other children, on the other days she attends they so many activities both indoors and out, she loves going on walks around the local lakes and park, they have regular trips to the library and she is always bringing her creations home, we especially enjoy the days they do cooking!!
The playroom is beautiful, bursting with books and toys and the children's creations are always put on display which is really lovely to see. Daisy especially loves the covered outdoor area as she loves being outside.
I never worry about leaving her and more importantly Daisy is never worried about being left.
I would recommend Louise to anyone looking for a childminder, I had no experience of childminders and was unsure about using one, now I wouldn't think twice, so much more personal and the relationship Louise has with the children is amazing.
