My Summary
About Me
I am honest, trustworthy, very conscientious and hard working. Working with children is the most rewarding career, it is hard work but the benefits make a days work worth every minute. I believe myself to be an excellent role model to both children and staff. I had an excellent relationship with our parents and have successfully managed a variety of situations, some more challenging then others.
I love being with children and watching them achieve and develop is so very rewarding.
I ran a successful Day Nursery for 21 years...
I worked at a primary school as a TA Sept 2015 - Sept 2017 and then moved north to be near to family.
I have a DBS completed for WSCC and one for CWAC.
I am looking for an 'after school' childcare position locally.
I would also be interested in one or two days a week childcare in the school holidays.
I am a highly motivated individual.
My Experience
Between 1982 and 1991 I was employed in the private sector as a residential nanny. I then worked at Oakmeeds Day Nursery in Burgess Hill between 1991 and 1993 as a nursery assitant. In 1993 a parent whose child attended Oakmeeds Day Nursery recommended me to Mill Hall School for Deaf Children to set up and manage their Day Nursery. This I did successfully but when the Deaf School moved to Newbury 3 years later I looked into options to keep the Day Nursery going as it had become highly successful. Myself and 2 parents researched our options and agreed that the only way forward was to make Mill Hall an incorporated company- this was finalised in 1997. We were able to lease our original premises- the property developer didn't wish to sell it to us unfortunatley.
I was the Manager/head of Mill Hall Day Nursery, originally in Cuckfield and then in Wivelsfield, for 21 years, recently to due to reasons beyond my control, Mill Hall was given 'notice to quit' the premises by the church and sadly there was no alternative but to close. Mill Hall closed its doors on 17.4.14.
I worked with R/Yr1/Yr2 for 2 years as a TA and supported the teacher and the school. I was part of the team that took the school from RI to 'GOOD' in all areas. A great achievement.
Between January - August 2018 I was employed on a temporary contract at a primary school outside of Chester working in their small pre- school with children 2 -5 years.
In September I accepted a position as Christmas staff at a local garden centre and now have a permanent contract working alternate Saturdays.
However, I would love to find a part time job looking after children during the week.
I moved up north with my husband to spend quality time with my great nephews, hence not wanting full time.
