About Me
Hello,
My name is Lucy. i am 48 and a registered childminder. I live in the center of Greatham in a fab little bungalow. We're not far from the A3 slip road which is great for commuting parents to do child drop offs and pick ups.
I live with my two children, boys Oliver age 14 at bohunt and Harvey 20. I give childcare during the day.
We have 3 spaniels, 2 cats, so will often be found in the local woods opposite, ranges and parks walking the dogs. I will do groups that suit the children's needs but a walk in the fresh air can sometimes be more inspiring for them. I help to run a childminders woodland school support group. a Greatham school meet and a church group each week which is a lovely way to give children a taster into the Social environment.
Our home is somewhere that your child can feel happy, safe and confident with the freedom to do the things they like, home cooked food and quiet areas to sleep. A good sized garden to play and explore messy time.
I have completed my level 3 diploma and have had personal experience with childrens social and communication needs and working closely with SENCO with my own child. This has given me a much better understanding of children with a "need" and driven me to understand better. I am currently involved on a KOT (keep on talking) speech and language course. Im currently attending autism awareness and ADHD seminars. I hold a L1 forest school qualification as we prefer to do most of our learning outdoors in the woods..
My Experience
Firstly I'm a mum to 2 children
Secondly I've been doing this professionally for 14 years.
As childminders we get regular training updates on legislation and current information. I help run a childminders group which gives support to other minders.

Registered with Ofsted graded Nov 2022 "GOOD"
paediatric first Aid updated April 2024
fully CRB checked.
safeguarding level 3 2024 and 4 updated may 2019
ICO registered
Environmental health inspected 5 star
level 3 diploma for Early learning and childcare.

My Availability
No space available untill 2026
i have no spaces for school pick ups/drop offs but please ask if your child attends Greatham school or you are able to drop off after school.
My hours are 830am -5pm but I am flexible with each family's needs.
I do offer holiday cover or nursery/childminder holiday cover.
