About Me
Hi, I am an Ofsted registered childminder (16+ years experience), with all the relevant qualifications and checks. I had my third Ofsted review this year which was extremely positive, receiving a rating of a high "Good". Before moving to Beckenham I was also one of Southwark's Children Come First childminders.
I am very active with the children, with an outing planned every day. In school holidays I tend to plan day trips which are further afield for any older children I look after. These trips have included the butterfly exhibition at the Natural History Museum, Broadstairs beach trip, Leeds castle half term trip, the transport museum and boat trips down the Thames.
I cook all my own food and can cater for most diets. I have a lovely daughter aged almost 18. I am based near Eden Park Train Station. I have excellent references. We have a small dog called mister.
My Experience
Before coming a childminder I was a foster carer for Southwark for 3 years. I registered as a childminder in January 2008 and got outstanding in "enjoying and achieving", goods in everything else, and satisfactory in paperwork.
Previous to becoming a childminder, I ran my own successful PR firm, specialising in food and drink. The unexpected but completely delightful arrival of my daughter made me rethink my career, and I have not regretted my decision to childmind once! In addition to childcare and PR, I have also taught NVQ level 3 and level 5 Management.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified childminder, with CRB checks, and current certificates in first aid and safeguarding. I have a clean driving licence. I have passed my childcare deploma (NVQ3 and Btech) with distinctions in every single subject! Yay!

My daughter Maia now 3 and a 1/2 just recently left Helen's care as I am on maternity leave again having been there since she was 7 months old.
Helen has been a fantastic childminder. My daughter has grown into a polite and independent girl more than ready to start school in September aged 4 and 1 month. Helen provided an amazing, warm home environment for Maia. We worked so well together as a team raising her together and went through all the trials and tribulations of toddlers from tantrums to potty training. Helen became and always will be a huge part of Maia's life and was always there to help and support me through the difficult days of being a commuting Mum with a welcoming cup of tea. We feel so incredibly lucky to have met Helen and her lovely family. From a practical side Helen does loads with the kids with trips out all over the place. Maia talks about her time with Helen and the other kids every day and misses her cooking.. as she reminds me every mealtime!

My 14 month old daughter has been looked after by Helen for the past two months and I cannot reccomend her highly enough. As soon we visited I felt completely at ease and my daughter was happy, relaxed and playing with her own daughter and lots of toys! It is just like a home from home. Helen provides a stimulating and comfortable environment and is always out and about at playgroups, the park, farms or museums! Plus she is an amazing cook so my daughter always eats very well... Better than at home (I am ashamed to say!) I always receive pictures of what they are getting up to in the day which I really appreciate.
We are so lucky to have found Helen.
