About Me

I am a fully registered childminder in Crown Wood and I received a "good" grading in my first OFSTED inspection back in September, 2016. I have recently made the decision to register with Rutland Early Years Agency and am awaiting my first graded inspection with them.

I have been an English teacher in a West London Secondary School for 13 years and a Bracknell secondary school for 1 year. I have now left teaching and am thoroughly enjoying my career-shift.

A little more about me and my family: We live in a lovely 3 bedroom house with a reasonably-sized garden. I have 2 lovely daughters, aged 10 and 8. They attend Crown Wood School; I therefore have good links with this school and their Nursery, thus making pick-ups and drop-offs from there ideal.

As you can imagine, with 2 young children, over the years we have accumulated an abundance of toys, games and garden equipment. I have many resources to suit children of varying ages and stages of development. I believe strongly that educating the Early Years begins prior to them starting school and I encourage this fully through independent play along with some guided activities.

I love working with children and young people; my teaching career has been a successful one. I do love teaching teenagers, but I feel that my interests now fall more with the development and learning of a younger age group. Over the last 6 years, I have watched so many little ones grow up and flourish and that makes my job the best job in the world!!

My husband is a Sports Facilities Manager for Richmond Upon Thames. He is also DBS checked and works with children (implementing holiday camps for children etc) in his main line of work. He is fantastic with children and is very supportive of all our 'Chirpy Chiddlers' and their families.

I have all of the relevant qualifications I.e. paediatric first aid, basic food and hygiene, safeguarding etc. A full list of qualifications can be provided. I also obviously have a full range of policies and procedures in place.

As a parent, I know how difficult it can be to find the right childcare. Building good relationships with parents and carers as well as the children is key, in my opinion, to providing a good service.
