My name is Karen. I live with my partner and my son aged 13.
I have 33 years experience looking after children from birth to 12 years.
I studied NNEB for 2 years after leaving school where I experienced several different childcare settings.
I have dedicated my whole working career to caring for children, working mainly as a private nanny. I began childminding in 2014.
I have a large garden with lots of play equipment, a separate playroom and plenty of space in the house to enjoy activities. We are also very close to open spaces and parks. When at home we enjoy arts and crafts, puzzles, singing, books and lots more.
I am very confident caring for children of different ages. I have cared for babies from newborn up to 12 years old. I am fun, loveable and get great satisfaction from my work, helping children/babies to learn and develop.
I have excellent, checkable references which date back up to 31 years.

My Experience

I have also worked in a crèche in Meribel, France and for Sunsail in Turkey.

Karen has looked after my daughter for just under two years. Karen is kind, caring, calm, reliable and provides a safe environment in a great home from home setting. Karen exposed our daughter to a variety of fun days out and celebrating different events. I could always see how happy and relaxed she was whilst out for these. Karen helped with potty training when we needed it and my daughter was always well rested there too (much better at nap time at Karen’s than at home hehe). We are so pleased we found Karen and the impact she has had on our daughters early years. Thank you for being the best Karen. We will miss you so much. X

I first met Karen in early 2014 when I was preparing for returning to work after having my little boy in September 2013. I was extremely anxious about having to return to work when my baby was so tiny, but Karen was warm and welcoming and made me feel totally at ease straight away.
She has been caring for Jack for 2 days a week since then, and he absolutely loves his days with her! She always plans such lovely activities for the children she cares for, and encourages children to be themselves and really enjoy their time with her.
Her house is cosy and very fun for the kids, and I often receive little arts and crafts gifts that Jack has made during his sessions with Karen.
Overall Karen has been a huge part of our lives since we had Jack, and it has always been a comfort knowing Jack was being cared for so well by someone he knows and loves, and who loves him too. We are so very very sad to be leaving Karen's care soon as we are relocating. We wish we could take her with us!

Karen has been looking after our youngest son for about a year now, and also cares for our older son in the school holidays.
Her home is very welcoming, and her playroom has many activities for children of all ages, and a large garden with even more! She is also extremely reliable and flexible in her approach, and both boys speak fondly of the various activities and outings they do with Karen.
We have no qualms about recommending her to any parent looking for a child-minder.
