About Me
Hi, my name is Kerry and I am a 46yr old mum to an amazing 16yr old. I have worked in the childcare sector for over 25 years, half of those years as a nanny.
I am extremely friendly, highly professional and have great enthusiasm for my work which reflects in the quality of learning and care i provide for the children I look after! I really enjoy seeing children learn and thrive in a positive and productive environment. I particularly enjoy crafty/messy activities where children can explore using sensory skills.
I am trained in Special Educational Needs and have had 5 years of experience as a SENCO in a nursery setting, dealing with many different needs including mild cerebral palsy and a child who was partially sighted. I have also helped/advised families who had children on the Autistic spectrum in a family setting (as a nanny) and supported both the child/ren, siblings and parents throughout.
I have had some experience of the ABA play therapy for children on the autistic spectrum which I found very interesting.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 25 years.
I began my childcare career as a nursery nurse. After 3 years, I was offered a my first nanny position. I worked for my 1st family for 5 fabulous years (the children are now 23 and 25). We still keep in touch which is lovely.
I then decided to work my way up the ladder and became a deputy nursery officer in a nursery in London. I held this post for 4 years and then took time out to have my son.
After 2 years off to enjoy motherhood, I returned to nannying and have been working withn the Greenwich/Lewisham borough for various families ever since. I have lots of twins exp (currently look after twins) and have worked with both multiple child families and single child families.
My Qualifications
I have a BTEC diploma in nursery nursing and have been qualified for just over 20 years and I have CACHE certificate in Special Educational Needs.
I am Ofsted registered and I have a current Ofsted DBS. I am fully insured and Im also a member of Pacey, who provide online training. When I get a few spare moments, I like to brush up on my childcare knowledge as it is forever changing. First Aid has been refreshed in Nov (2022).

I am currently wprking full time for 2 lovely families so unavailable at this time for full time role but would be interested in the odd babysitting job.

Kerry looked after my 2 children aged 3 and 6 years old for over a year until I took maternity leave.
She stepped into the role at the last minute and quickly adapted to our routine, the house and most importantly the kids.
Kerry was totally reliable as well as flexible adjusting her schedule to suit ours. The kids were always happy and relaxed. Kerry took them on lovely days out to shows, events and even for pizza with other kids during the holidays as well as taking them to the park, to swimming lessons and hosting play dates after school.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kerry. She has been brilliant and the kids still miss her!
Overall
We we lucky enough to have Kerry as nanny to our then 2.10 year old and 1 year old in 2022. Kerry is excellent with kids and it’s clear that she has genuine affection for them. My daughter still says that she’s the best nanny and when I ask her why she says because “she’s kind”, “she plays with me”, “she’s fun”, “she doesn’t get angry if I do something wrong”. Kerry has a calm and warm presence which put our kids and us at ease and made us confident that she would keep them safe whilst helping them grow. What was really impressive is quite early on was Kerry could recognise the difference between a fake and genuine cry which even we struggled to do. Kerry’s timekeeping was exceptional and she balanced activities with rest so our kids were content. She always would listen to what we wanted and act on it consistently and would proactively do things to help. We had complete trust in her care and she is an easy person to have in your home. In summary we highly recommend her and if we could afford it would hire her instantly as we think she is a positive role model.

Kerry has looked after my 3 year old twins for one or two days a week over the summer. She was obviously very experienced in looking after young children and immediately made everyone feel comfortable. My boys took to her straight away and she always ensured they were busy with various activities - painting, crafts, park visits etc. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her!
