My Summary
About Me
I have enjoyed caring for children for over 24 years. Ageing from three months to ten years old, caring for their siblings and building a close relationship with the families. I provide a 'home from home', secure, caring, loving and stimulating environment for your child.
In January 2022, I was Ofsted inspected again and pleased to say I have retained my Outstanding grade. I am CRB/DBS checked, a member of PACEY and am fully insured. Also registered with ICO (data protection). I hold a number of certificates including level 3 diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, paediatric first aid, safeguarding, child protection, food hygiene, food allergens, online safety, fire safety, EYFS training and others.
I live in a quiet cul de sac, close to local amenities, including shops, library, church, parks, wooded areas, lake and open fields. With a choice of toddler groups, activity centres, preschools, nurseries and schools, majority of them within walking distance. Regularly we visit toddler groups, library for rhyme time, Mini Messy Church, and outside activities. Also enjoy visiting places of interest, eg farms, museums, sometimes taking the bus. In the summer we go further afield eg Windsor, Henley, Marlow.
During lockdown, because everything was closed, I joined Forest Childcare. Meaning we go for walks in the woods, round the lake, feed ducks. Even though toddler groups etc are now reopen, we will continue to spend time outside as I feel children benefit more from being in the fresh air and its good for our well being. Even the young are encouraged to explore as soon as they are able. We spend more time outside, looking at nature. Playing in the stream, climbing logs and trees, muddy puddles, noticing the changes in seasons, collecting items for crafts etc Playing ball games on the field or in the garden for energetic play. Puddle suits and wellies are helpful in the wet weather. In warmer weather, we have picnics. We have enjoyed painting rocks, hiding them and finding others people have hidden.
In my setting, I offer a variety of age related, multicultural toys, educational games and puzzles, books and activities to extend your child's learning development in line with the EYFS. Also we enjoy reading books, singing, baking, water play, painting, messy play.
I plan activities and themes in accordance with the children's next steps, interests and needs.
I am a member of Kinderly. Using Kinderly I complete a daily diary online so parents can see what we do during the day, what we have eaten, nap times, nappies etc and make it a form of communication with parents e.g. holiday dates. I forward photos at the end of the day via mobile.
I also complete each child's learning journal (EYFS) on Kinderly so parents and I can see the milestones their child is achieving. This also flags areas a child may not be meeting, so together we can seek professional help. Eg a child not speaking yet may benefit from hearing tests and speech therapy.
We are non smokers and have no pets.

Liza has looked after our son Ollie since he was 11 months old and as parents we could not fault or ask for a better childminder. Liza is friendly, approachable and professional which is evident from her "outstanding" ofsted ratings.
Liza has really taken the time to get to know Ollie and learn his little ways which is evident in the bond they have. Ollie has loved going to Liza's from day one and has always been happy to go in without any hesitation which is a true indication of how well he settled and enjoys his time there. As a mum Liza has given me the greatest gift a parent could ask for and that is I know my son is safe and happy in her care.
As a first time mum at times I have needed reassurance and advice which Liza has been on hand to help with.
Liza gives daily feedback via an app called kinderly and I love reading this at the end of they day to see what he has done she also sends us regular photos of Ollie of what he has been up to on that day. She is always there to talk at drop off and picks and is great at communicating.
She carries out lots of craft activities in the home and plan lots of activities to help support his learning and development, I have a lovely collection of things Ollie has done.
Liza takes Ollie out to lots of different places including toddler, groups, soft plays, parks and trips to local farms/activity centers etc. she is always out and about doing things which is one of the main reasons we think she is amazing and why Ollie is developing the way he is as he is always provided with opportunities to learn.
We truly believe Ollie has grown into the happy, sociable and confident little boy that he is due to Liza being involved in his care and we would not hesitate in recommending her as a childminder.
