About Me
I am a highly experienced Outstanding Ofsted registered childminder caring for 2024 babies from 3 months to primary school age and children that attend Myland Primary School, Colchester. I accept all funding and tax free childcare.
I am able to offer flexible pre and post school hours with school drop off and collection between 7am and 6pm. I can also offer adhoc hours.
Most importantly all children are part of an extended family with home from home care and love .
I have limited availability for pre and post school care for the upcoming school term 2024/2025.
All children follow the EYFS through fun activities and enjoy a range of stay and play baby and toddler groups where they get to play and socialise with other children of the same age or similar age .
All children have access to play in a secure garden and can also enjoy activities such as baking, art and crafts as well as being able to watch TV. I live very close to Myland Recreation Ground and we often spend time there.
We always have parties and fun around the festivals such as Easter, Christmas and Halloween, creating art and crafts around each child's age and stage of development.
I'm a mum of three to Joe 20, Phoebe 14 and Ben 12 and am passionate about children's learning and development. Most importantly, I love children and joining them on their fun and exciting journey .

I am a qualified childcare professional with 20 years experience in childcare.
I have held senior positions in private day nurseries and have been a self-employed Ofsted registered childminder for the last eight years to fit in around my commitments as a mother.
I have worked with all ages and stages of child development and enjoy being able to offer a home from home environment and living just a minute from the local park is a real bonus.
My Qualifications
I hold a first aid certificate and a current DBS check certificate, safe guarding training and hold a diploma in childcare and education level 3

I have been using Laura for three years now. I used to be able to collect my son from school myself but due to a change in jobs I had to start using a childminder. I was initially quite reserved about how it would go but with Laura my son has loved every minute. The setting is a great location, Laura is great with the kids and happy to help me as a parent as much as she can which I really appreciate. My son will soon be transitioning to secondary school and without Laura I don't know how I would have managed these past years. The kids all seem to have a great time with Laura and can participate in various activities and she's always goes the extra mile for them. Highly recommend for anyone needing childcare in this area.

My daughters first year at school has been made so much easier (for both of us!) she loves going to Laura’s (so much so we get told off if we pick her up early) there is always lots of toys, activities (craft, baking etc) fun at the park and a large garden for them to play in.
Laura is very friendly and flexible when work has changed or I have been delayed.
I couldn’t recommend her enough and feel thankful we found her!

My first time using a child minder but Laura has been brilliant, flexible while we get use to new jobs and the children love going to hers, so much so they don’t want me to collect them from school any more!

My son has been going to Laura for a couple of years now and absolutely loves it. Laura is very easy going and friendly, my son always has fun there and has wanted to go there even on my non working days. Laura is very professional in what she does and I feel confident that my son is in the best possible hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a childminder.

My son has been with Laura for around 2 years. There has not been one day that he hasn't had fun at Laura's. He does a variety of activities including the park, playing in the garden and even some time on the computer. I know Liam is in completely safe and trustworthy hands with Laura. She's also fantastic if I'm running a bit late from work! I highly recommend Laura.
