About Me
Hi I have lived in South Ockendon for 54 years and married to my long suffering husband Edward for 45 years we have 2 children and have 6 grandchildren. Edward is still a big kid at heart, his garden den soon became the play house and renamed "Pops Cabin"
My daughter Victoria and daughter in law Jayne who both have children of thre own are my assistants and will be fully registered in theer own right as a child minders very soon, which is great. Everyone at Cherished are first aid trained and DB'S checked.
My Experience
Pat, fun raised for the very first Shaw Start Nursery, for preschool children to have fun in. Our project started in a small spare classroom at Shaw's infants school, many local business's sponsored us, and this enabled us to kit the class room out with books, toys, and even a boat! Shaw start grew and moved to a bigger unit at the Ockendon Centre and is now based in a new purpose built building next to Shaw school. The local council even took on the name of Shaw Start as their banner for Thurrock for all government run nurseries.

A huge thank you to Nanny Pat, ,Pop, Auntie Vicky, Auntie Jane for the amazing work what they do every day for the children. All of them truly care about their children in care. The environment is just amazing as they are. I can highly recommend them to anyone , especially who is really worried about the first big step in their child or children’s life.

I have had the privilege of entrusting my son and daughter to Cherished Childminding for the past 5 years, and I can confidently say that it has been a wonderful experience. Cherished, whom we consider part of our extended family, has created a warm and nurturing environment that has truly become a second home for my children.
One of the standout qualities of Cherished (aside from the amazing food – so I’m told every day by my children!) is their ability to create a simulating and educational setting. My children have learned so much over the years they have attended, which has set them up ready to start school with ease.
Cherished is committed to open communication, with regular updates via the daily diary, newsletters, pictures sent throughout the day, or a good chat at the door upon collection! Safety is a top priority for Cherished, who maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, which leaves us feeling confident the children are being well cared for.
What truly sets Cherished apart is their genuine warmth, love and affection for all the children, treated as if they were their own. They have created a close-knit community where my children have developed beautiful friendships and life long memories. I wholeheartedly recommend this childminder to any parent seeking a truly wonderful and trustworthy childcare provider.

We are so happy with the team at Cherished and the care they have provided for both of our girls. The approach is kind with lots of learning and play, helping the children develop their physical skills, mental skills and social. They’ve also helped me as a mum figure out lots of parenting stuff that can be so confusing at times.
Our girls love the team and feel safe which is so reassuring as a mum. Both of my two will be at school soon and I know that they have had the best start possible by being at Cherished.

Cherished Childminding Services is such great childcare services. It’s such great extension to that homely feeling for my kids. Nanny Pat and team are fantastic with the kids and really know them personally. Communication is great and regular via phone, diary, Whatsapp and verbally at pick up and drop off. They’re so understanding and supportive of working parents’ needs. The setting is clean, safe and welcoming for the children. My children have made friends they talk about all the time and are happy. They’re very diverse and culturally aware and adaptive to cultural needs. Also, they provide excellent programs and healthy eating for children. I have seen great progress with my children’s learning, my older one who’s starting reception in September knows his alphabet, colors, numbers and how to spell his name. Festive seasons are the best, children get presents and have parties and they absolutely love it. I am really happy with the services and grateful for all that Nanny Pat and team do for our children.

Cherishe Childminder has been a wonderful, positive place for our kids, and we can't thank them enough for everything they do for them. The staff is fantastic and welcoming; You can tell that they truly care about all the children in their care. The environment is very clean and safe. They also encourage healthy eating and feed the children nutritious and healthy foods. Their programs are fantastic; our kids learn so much and seem to have a lot of fun. The communication is excellent and transparent about everything. They communicate with us verbally, by text message and through a diary. I highly recommend their service to everyone, especially the mothers who are always so worried about their little ones. Thank you for all you do for our kids.
