About Me
Hi, my name is Emma and I am an Ofsted registered childminder and live in Toton. My childminding business is called Emma’s Little Stars.
I have been married to Ben for 23 years and I am a mother to two lovely children myself. They both really enjoy having the little ones here and the little ones like them too! We have a lovely child friendly cat called Tango, who the children adore!
I live in a nice, welcoming 3 bedroomed house in a cul de sac location. There is a great sized playroom on the back which is nice and light and looks out onto a private and secure garden. This has been astro turfed and it has been great; the children tend to enjoy outdoor time most days. They love the in ground trampoline, playhouse and garden toys.
I provide a warm, fun, caring and nurturing environment in a safe home from home setting. My aim is to work with you, to give the best possible care for your little one(s).
There are lots of great activities and age appropriate toys both inside and outside to keep the children entertained.
Little ones develop well and learn in a fun and caring environment, with a mixture of child led play and free play. We enjoy lots of different activities, themes and crafts throughout the year which everyone loves!
I like attending regular Playgroups and we take trips to soft play and enjoy other activities. In the warmer weather it’s lovely to visit the local parks to play and have picnics, and to visit the nature reserve to feed the ducks or to visit the local farm.
I can provide full time care, term time only care and/or part time care, before and/or after school care (Banks Road Infant School and Bispham Drive Junior School) and some school holiday care.
Please feel free to contact me to arrange a visit if you are interested and would like further information.

Emma has been looking after my little girl since November 2020 and I couldn’t be happier at how she cares and provides for her. My daughter has some health and dietary needs and Emma has been amazing at understanding and accommodating these. Her home and family are lovely and it genuinely feels like we won the jackpot to get a space at Emma’s. Her care, costs and flexibility with session times can’t be beaten in my opinion. I really do highly recommend Emma.
Emma has looked after our little boy for the last 10 months, since he was 9 months old and I went back to work full time. I was very nervous to leave him with anyone but we met Emma a couple of times before agreeing anything and saw where our son would be spending his days. She immediately put us at ease and answered every question we could think of. Her home is lovely with so many toys and activities for little ones, and a great back garden. She takes the little ones to playgroups, the park, soft play and even a little farm. A real highlight for us as parents are the updates and pictures she sends everyday showing us the fun our little boy is having and the progress he is making.
From the very first day we dropped our son off we knew he was in the right place. He absolutely adores Emma and she is so so wonderful with him. He has so much fun everyday and does a variety of activities and crafts. He has come on so much during his time with Emma and we trust him with her completely.
We truly could not have asked for anyone better to care for our son. The only reason she won’t be looking after him forever is because we are moving abroad. We wish we could take her with us!!!
Emma has looked after our little girl since she was 7 months old. Returning to work and leaving my baby was one of the hardest things I have ever done. However, from the moment I met Emma I knew everything would be fine. The first time we met, I was instantly put at ease by her calm, friendly and kind personality. She welcomed us into her home and our little girl was instantly at home. She is now nearly 4 and loves every minute she spends with Emma. So much so we have a battle every night trying to leave as she is desperate to stay and play longer with Emma, the other children and Emma’s wonderful family. She treats all the children as if they were her own and they all love the time trey spend there. In September, as our little girl moves on to preschool, our baby boy will be going to Emma’s and I couldn’t be happier knowing he will be with her. I feel so lucky to have found Emma and are so thankful that she is a part of our children’s lives.
We are both working parents and have 2 great children. I was lucky enough to have family to care for my first child until he went to a private nursery at the age of 2 just before he attended the local pre- school nursery at Banks road. At that time we did not look into child minders in the local area which I now regret. I always had a unsettled feeling when sending my son to the private nursery, and didn't like leaving him there.
My second child also attended banks road pre-nursery school and I needed some additional cover for a few hours after the morning session Monday to Thursday. I was lucky enough to know Emma through my eldest son who is in the same year group as her son.I considered Emma to be the child minder for my youngest son but still had reservations, and this was due to the fact my son being quite shy and will only speak to selected family members and friends. He is also very selective when playing with other children, so I wasn't sure how he would settle.
Well all the anxiety and concerns I had instantly disappeared on the visit day and when I dropped him off with Emma on the first day. The house is child friendly, colourful and very warming with lots of toys around the children's area. Obviously for children of any age its toy heaven!
Emma definitely went above and beyond my expectations when it came to caring for my son, as she would with all children. The amount of fun and creative activities she had with the children just amazed me.
Each day she gave me a quick run down of the day, a diary with a daily update plus photos sent to my email at the end of the week, which for me were so precious. In every photo I knew he was naturally enjoying himself and was very comfortable in the environment around him.
Emma was very approachable with every query I had little or big. I would absolutely recommend Emma as a child minder to all my friends and family, she has a natural connection with children and she's an amazing lady! Thank you so much Emma - There's not enough words in the universe to express the care you provided to my child.
Emma has been looking after our son William for the past school year. He attends Banks Road Nursery unit in the mornings and we needed someone to look after him in the afternoons 3 days a week. We know Emma through our older son who is at school with her son so we were immediately comfortable with sending William to her. However, William didn't really know Emma but they hit it off from day 1. William absolutely adores her and it take a good hour or so after I collect him for him to stop calling me 'Emma'! Emma has provided a first class, caring environment for our son and apart from him being at home with us, this is as good as it gets in terms of childcare. Emma's home is lovely and the space where the children play is bright and stimulating. She has loads of great toys which he thoroughly enjoys playing with. The outdoor space is also lovely. William was quite a solitary child, happy to play on his own and I think he's benefitted from spending time in close proximity to the other children Emma cares for. He has also become more open to doing arts & crafts activities as a result of the things they've done together. Obviously I get a personal 'handover' when I collect him but we get a written update in his folder each day. We also receive a weekly email with photos showing what he's been up to. The best recommendation must come from him in that he misses her during the school holidays and he's quite often disappointed to see us when we collect him from school instead of Emma! We can't recommend her highly enough if you're considering someone in Toton to look after your child. Jane & Andrew Butler
