About Me
Hi :) My name is Kate and live in the staple hill area of Bristol. I have lived here for 10 years since moving from Ireland. I have two little girls aged 3 and 8 months and absolutely adore being a mum. I currently work for children’s services in the local council but I really want to get back into childcare again as it was something I loved doing in Ireland and when I first moved to Bristol. I am a friendly, reliable and hardworking individual who loves working with children and I would love the opportunity to provide support to local families once again.
My Experience
When i lived in Ireland I worked in a resource centre here I worked with children ages 3months to 10 years . I did everything from arts and crafts, music, storytelling, teaching, feeding, and outdoor activities.
I also am an Experienced babysitter who has worked with numerous families over the years minding their children part-time on the weekend evenings.
When I moved to Bristol i was very lucky to be a nanny for a lovely 5 year old boy, here I did everything from school runs, homework, creative play and cooking dinners for him, we would go on outings in the school holidays including soft plays, zoo trips, beach trips and lots more I loved my experience working alongside him and his family.
I was also lucky enough to provide babysitting to local families in the evenings and sometimes for full days when the parents had events or had to work away.
Since having my girls I have realised again how much I love being around children and have had the chance to care for my daughters friends, some on a regular basis and it gave me the push I wanted to offer my services once again. We love being outdoors and going to different classes and it has given me a whole new world of things I could do with your children.
As of now I am working part time with the council working for children’s social service where I work 9-5 Monday - Wednesday. I do not work Thursday and Fridays so could be flexible for babysitting these days , I have support from family to help look after my baby if I was working or with prior discussion and agreement I could look after someone alongside my daughter. It could be a good way to get your child socialising if they may not have had much before. I am open to discussion about any situation/needs you may want. Many thanks for reading.
My Qualifications
Social work FETAC level 5
Bachelor or arts in youth and community work practice.
British Red Cross babies and child first aid.
My Availability
Flexibility around day care on Thursdays/Friday if ok to be around my children. Otherwise I am available most evenings and weekends for adhoc babysitting.
