Hello families!
My name is Katie and I am a professional nanny working in and around Bristol.
I recently graduated with a BA Hons in Education Studies and Early Years and I am also a fully qualified Level 3 Extended childcare practitioner.
Inspired by a mixture of child-led, montessori, gentle and positive practices, I am motivated to support the learning and development of children and young people whilst also ensuring their needs are being met in order to become happy and healthy individuals.
My childcare philosophy is a very active one where I am able to understand and physically see the benefits that being outdoors, staying active and making the most of the surrounding areas can greatly enhance everyones learning any development. All weather is good weather if you've got the right mindset.
I hold a full UK driving license.

My Experience
2010 - Present : Babysitting; regularly for many families with children up to the age of 13.
Sept 2012 - August 2020 : Various jobs workings with children in a variety of settings. Including primary school class assistant, swimming teacher, nursery nurse, Au Pair and nanny.
Nov 2017 - Dec 2021 : Ad hoc care for 2 boys, one with varying additional needs including Autism, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD.
Jan 2019 - Sept 2019 : After school and school holiday nanny for girls 3 and 5 years old. Still providing ad-hoc care.
Sept 2019 - Feb 2020 : Full time teaching placement in a city primary school
March 2020 - December 2021 : Full time nanny for family with 4, 2 and 6mo old.
Jan 2021 - Present : Wedding and events nanny
Jan 2022 - Sept 2023 : Full time nanny for family with 2 and 4 years old.
Jan 2023 - Present : PT Nanny for family with 1 and 4 year old.
Sept 2023 - Present : PT Nanny caring for 4 children aged 1-5.
Regular proxy parenting experience, caring for up to 4 children sole charge with bookings between 24 and 96 hours.

Katie very kindly looked after our 1 year old son for the weekend of our wedding and was absolutely amazing! She had never met him before the sit, but he took to her right from the off and we felt so relaxed knowing that he was in such safe hands. They clearly had a wonderful time together and he was so well looked after (food, playing, washing etc). I couldn't recommend Katie enough to anyone who is looking for a babysitter/nanny. She has a real gift with children and any child would be very lucky to spend time with her. We will definitely be using Katie again in the future!

I cannot recommend Katie enough, she has been fantastic with our daughter edie, from 8 months old she has been our regular babysitter. Edie loves her as much as we do. Katie’s approach to building a relationship with children is so kind and patient, and we have gotten some great advice too. Edie is very happy having dinner with Katie and going to bed without any issues. Katie has always been super reassuring with updates while we are out and filling us in on what they got up to while we were gone! We don’t have any local family support so it has been incredible to have Katie in our lives, I don’t know what we would do without her. Thank u so much Katie xxx

We have used Katie for babysitting quite a number of times over the last year or so. She first looked after our son when he was just a few months old. We met Katie first and introduced him to her and from the first time we left him there was no problem at all. Katie is experienced, punctual and caring and very well qualified. She has all the necessary paperwork and insurance to put your mind at rest and a car seat if needed. I can't recommend Katie enough.

Katie has been babysitting for us since our daughter was 6 months old. She is a great help and i couldn't fault her! We met Katie through a friend who she also babysat for and have used her lots since. We were quickly able to gain our trust and friendship with Katie and she bonded with our daughter perfectly. They are great friends now and she looks forward to Katie coming to babysit. Katie has always understood and considered our needs and preferences and she is always able to provide age appropriate activities that are fun.
Our daughter is 3 now and we continue to use her as a babysitter, we just wish we could have her round more often!
