About Me
Hello my name is Claire, I'm a registered childminer in Birchgrove/Heath area, in walking distance from the UHW and Birchgrove primary school. I live with my husband Paul and three boys Dylan 21, Corey 18 and Harry 16.
As a mother I understand the importance of great quality child care to ensure your children are happy, contented and developing in a safe stimulating environment.
I have experience supporting children with additional needs.
To support the children's Learning though play and experiencing the world around us;
We have a lovely equipped play room leading on to the all weather enclosed garden, there is a quiet room available for sleeping on the ground floor. We have regular outing in the community, we have fantastic facilities available we use local play groups, leisure centres, local indoor play centres, local parks and playing fields, libraries and many other facilities. I provide a wide range of activities for all ages.
I follow the Foundation Phase the Seven Areas of Learning to built a great foundation for school life.
I provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for the children in my care during these times, I provide healthy snacks though out the day, drinks are available at all times.
Meals, Snacks, Drinks and Outings are included in the fee's.
I am a registered provider for the 30 hours free child care offer for 3 and 4 year olds.
I also accept Tax free childcare.
A home from home environment.
We love animals we currently have a cat Bonnie and a gold fish Bob.
My setting is child friendly, it has been assessed by the CIW. I regularly carry out risk assessments and fire safety checks.

I have 7+ years working within the community with children who have additional needs.
I volunteered at our local Boys Brigade for many years.
I have worked in in a number of Nurseries state and private, I have been a mother's help to triplets.
Last but not least I am a mother to 3 gorgeous boys.

My Availability
Full and part-time places available for Babies and Children.
Drop off and pick up from Birchgrove Primary School.
Opening hours;
7.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Thursday.
9.00 - 3.00pm Fridays.
Outside of these hours can be arranged.

Claire cared for my son for approximately 6 months, he thoroughly enjoyed going everyday and I always picked him up with a beaming smile on his face. Claire was very welcoming when we first met and immediately put me at ease about leaving my son with her for the first time, explaining her accreditations, experience she had as well as her beautiful home which seemed accommodating and appropriate setting to care for children, which filled me with confidence. Everyday I received a brief of what my son had done on the sessions and pictures of the fun he had out and about in the community. I would not hesitate in contacting Claire again if I need any further support and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a carer for their Children.

Our son has been going to Claire twice a week for the last 18 months. He absolutely loves going to Claire and runs in with a smile every time.
Claire keeps us updated with photos and messages and we love seeing pictures of their adventures to the park, museum, library etc.
Macs has come on in leaps and bounds since going to Claire’s and we couldn’t be happier with the care she provides - Thank you Claire!

Our daughter has been going to Claire for the last 2 years and I couldn’t ask for a more kind and caring childminder.
The home from home environment helped Florence settle so well and Claire always keeps us updated with photos and messages throughout the day.
Claire is friendly and supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Florence looks forward to seeing Claire and is always full of smiles and fun stories from her day of adventures and fun activities at the end of the day. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend.

Our little girl Elsie who is now two and a half has been going to Claire for close to two years. After viewing several nurseries with not much luck Claire came highly recommended. We instantly warmed to Claire and felt that she'd be great for elsie.
Elsie absolutely loves going to Claires, it's very much like a second home for her.
We have just had our second child who will also be going to Claire towards the end of the year.
We couldn't ask for better care for our children.

Claire has been the childminder for our daughter for the last two years. She is thoughtful, kind and amazing with our daughter who loves going to her. Claire has also helped us with childcare on inset days and school holidays. I cannot recommend Claire highly enough!

Our 14 month old son has been with Claire since he was 9 months old. Claire’s gentle approach to settling in helped us build up slowly to full days over a few weeks and was reassuring for us as he started 4 day weeks there. He has a brilliant time and has built a great relationship with Claire and her family. He has the opportunity to socialise and has made friends with other pre-schoolers and school age children. Claire has a variety of toys and completes a range of activities for the children to engage with. Claire keeps us updated daily with photos of activities and adventures in the park. Our little boy always comes home happy and we would highly recommend Claire!

Our 15 month old son, H, has been with Claire since his first birthday. Claire was really helpful with the settling-in period, letting him go for a few very short visits and building it up to a whole day. I was anxious how H would be with others having spent all of lockdown with me but Claire was so calm and friendly he settled in really well.
H has a fantastic time and loves spending his day with Claire & co. H has lots of fun with the older children before and after school, a social opportunity he doesn't get as an only child. And he has really enjoys the daytime with the other pre-schoolers. Claire has lots of different toys and things for them to do, I enjoy getting photos in the day so I know what H has been up to.
Claire is just brilliant, I highly recommend her!

I can't recommend Claire enough. My 16 month old son has been going to Claire since he was 11 months and she made him feel happy and secure right from the start. He always reaches out for her when we arrive in the morning, which I think says a lot! He loves mixing with the other children of different ages and loves claire's sons too. As a mum, I couldn't be happier with the care Claire provides for my little one and I would recommend her to anyone. I go to work knowing he will have a great day. Thanks Claire for making the transition to childcare and back to work so smooth! X

Claire has looked after my 2 year old, Elsie, since she was 8 months old. Claire always made both of us feel relaxed right from the start and my daughter comes home happy every time she’s there. It’s a lovely mix of children so that Elsie gets to socialise regularly with younger and older children (and she loves Claire’s sons too). I’m sure this will help once we get to the transition to school too. I have recommended her to others.

From day one Claire has been exceptional with our son, she provides a warm and caring environment which made the introduction easy for everyone. Knowing your child is happy and well cared for is priority and without a doubt this is true for Claire. Our son has come along famously under her care, he certainly enjoys his time with her. Couldn't thank you enough.
