About Me

Hello Parents-to-Be,

My name is Becki, and I am an experienced, qualified former nanny with a solid career in childcare, currently specialising as a Maternity Nurse and Nanny. After taking some time off for Maternity leave, I am excited to return to work and offer my services once again.

I am available for both day and night positions, as well as babysitting, starting from October 2024.

A little more about me: I have a deep passion for cooking and love creating healthy and nutritious meals. I am also very creative and enjoy engaging in various arts and crafts. Additionally, I love to travel and spend time in the great outdoors. I am devoted, caring, and highly organised, with a calm demeanour that helps me cope well under pressure. I thrive when faced with new challenges and aim to bring a positive, supportive energy into any home I work in.

My journey in childcare began at the age of 13, when I ran a small creche at my local church. I also volunteered with Sunday school and youth clubs. This early experience sparked my interest in childcare, which led to my work at a private day nursery during the summer holidays. I completed work experience in a school nursery, which inspired me to pursue a qualification in childcare. Throughout my studies, I gained valuable experience across a variety of settings, including primary schools, a school nursery, special needs schools, and working alongside a new mother at home.

Since qualifying, I have worked in private day nurseries, school nurseries, as a kids' club and creche representative overseas, and in various nanny roles. For the last eight years, I have been working as a Maternity Nurse. I have experience caring for children ranging from newborns to 13 years old, which has equipped me with a broad understanding of childcare needs at different stages of development.

As a Maternity Nurse, my goal is to provide full support to parents following the birth of their baby. I aim to encourage, support, and nurture you as new parents, helping you feel confident and happy in caring for your baby. Even after I’ve completed my time with your family, I am always happy to offer advice or answer any questions you may have.

Here are some of the duties I can assist with:

- Practical care for the baby (winding, changing, bathing, dressing/undressing, settling to sleep, and providing stimulating activities to support early development)
- Offering information, support, and guidance on newborn care
- Assisting with infant feeding (breastfeeding, formula feeding, or mixed feeding)
- Helping to establish routines
- Setting up sleeping patterns and caring for the baby throughout the night so you can get a restful night's sleep
- Sterilising and preparing bottles
- Teaching safety and hygiene practices around the baby
- Preparing light meals and snacks for the mother
- Proxy parenting when needed
- Performing nursery duties, including baby laundry and keeping the nursery tidy
- Driving clients to appointments using the client’s car if necessary

I am based in South West London and look forward to working with families in this area.

My Experience

In 2016, I completed a Maternity Nurse course and, more recently, I’ve added training in gentle sleep coaching, tongue-tie awareness, and breastfeeding. Over the past eight years, I have gained extensive professional and volunteer experience working with babies under 3 months old while also beginning to raise my own family.

During my most recent positions, I have gained experience in the following areas:

- Caring for single babies, twins, and triplets
- Bottle feeding and sterilisation
- Managing various health conditions, including dysphagia, colic, reflux, and atopic eczema
- Supporting new mothers with additional post-birth needs such as C-section recovery, Bell's palsy, and postnatal depression
- Establishing sleep and feeding routines
- Washing and bathing newborns
- Baby-led weaning, traditional weaning, and meal preparation
- Managing breathing problems, including bronchitis and infant wheezing
- Assisting with the care of newborns alongside older siblings
- Experience with premature babies
- Using medical equipment such as oxygen tanks, heart rate monitors, and feeding tubes
- Administering medication and formula through nasojejunal and nasogastric tubes, and preparing formula with thickener
- Observing and supporting breastfeeding mothers with feeding, positioning, and expressing

My Qualifications

I left school with 10 GCSE's 4 graded A-C including Child Development,Maths, Art and Religious Education.

I studied BTECH Early Years at collage full time for 2 years and qualified gaining a BTECH National Diploma in Early Years, level 3 in 2004.

Most recently I studied and gained
Babyem ONC postnatal maternity care award
Gentle sleep training level 3
Breastfeeding Training level 3

Becky looked after our 2nd child for 3 months from birth in 2021. She did 24/5. We found her knowledgeable, helpful, very calm, friendly and very easy to get on with. Her genuine love of babies really showed but she was also a favourite with the three-year-old brother. We’d 100% recommend her.

Rebecca spent 4 weeks with us from the 24th of November 2019 until the 22nd of December as a live-out nanny looking after my 3 month old daughter, Abike. During her stay with us, Becki was a wonderful asset to our family. She is kind, helpful and very patient and I would be more than happy to recommend her for any nanny role.
Her primary task was to take care of my then 3 month old between 7am -12 noon Monday to Thursday in order to give me enough time to catch my breath and take an hour nap. Becky was very patient with my baby who was a very fussy newborn as she had reflux. Becky would bring her to me to feed and then burp her and hold her upright for 30mins before settling her down again. While the baby slept Becki was also incredibly helpful around the house, she did the baby’s laundry and ironing, made me some lactation smoothies and even tidied my kitchen! I also asked her to help with some research online (for childcare and baby’s clothes). She was very quick and thorough with this work.
While my husband was out of town, Becki spent a few nights with us and was an excellent night nanny. She was always reachable via text message and burped and settled the baby after each feed so that I could spend the entire night in bed and most of it asleep.
Although I was at home on most days I was 100% comfortable leaving Becki at home alone with the baby and did so on a few occasions. I had no doubts as to her trustworthiness and primary concern for Abike’s welfare.
Please feel free to contact us if we can provide any further information.
