Hi there parents :-)
My name is Emily, I live in Stevenage with my two children (aged 4 and 9 month year old). Both my parents have experience working in the police and as foster parents.
In my spare time I freelance write, (previously had my own column) and I have a passion for reading. I am very passionate about teaching in early years, and I love to cook and go to the gym. I also enjoy crafts and painting, which I like to practice when working with children.
My favourite season is Autumn and Halloween, as it means I can go for nature walks with my children and family members.
My Experience
I qualified in 2009 (Level 3 CACHE Childcare and Education). I also carry a Level 2 in Health and Social care and studied Counselling at the University of Hertfordshire.
I have fourteen years experience working in Early years and various childcare settings; nurseries, primary schools, children centres and Autism support services.
I am a qualified SENCO worker and have had Autism training (previously worked for Autism Bedfordshire). I have 5 years experience working with additional needs including speech and language delays. I have experience working with children on a one to one to meet specific targets. I can provide my own resources such as visual aids etc.
I offer free support, supporting children with challenging behaviour. If you have a question about your child’s behaviour please feel free to message me. I have experience working as a Behaviour coordinator, and experience dealing with extreme behavioural issues.
I am trained in supporting various cultures and religious backgrounds. I have spent the last two years as a Global awareness coordinator (within a nursery setting), supporting children who celebrate certain festivals.
I have been practicing as a Mindfulness and Meditation Coach and have training in this area. I can plan mindfulness and meditation activities for children if this is something that interests you as a parent.
I will be starting the Ofsted registration process after my travels (in February).
