Hi, my name is Megan. I am currently being a mummy to 2 little boys, aged 4 and 1 months. I am currently a nursery practitioner at a nursery in King's Worthy. I previously worked as a nanny for a little boy aged 4, and a little girl aged 1. I have had experience working with children aged 4 months to 5 years. I had been working for the same company since 2011 before becoming a nanny and I am looking to expand my experience of childcare by working closely with families in their homes. I enjoy working with children, looking after their needs and supporting them to develop confidence and creativity whilst being safe and secure and and having worked in a setting for so many years, understand that every family is completely unique. I love to spend time outdoors and spend most of my free time walking with my partner, Laura, our little boys and our dog. I am an active person and have found a new love of running, and getting fitter!
My Experience
In my last role, I worked as a nanny for a little boy aged 4 and his little sister aged 1, 3 days a week. My role is nursery duties only, however I did help out with washing, cooking and cleaning when I had time.
I worked at a day nursery as a Deputy and Room Manager until March 2018. I started at the nursery in 2011 as a trainee working towards my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. After qualifying, I was appointed as a Nursery Nurse in the Baby Room. In January 2014, I was then promoted to Senior Nursery Nurse. I have since progressed to Room Manager in a Transition Room at another setting. My roles are; to look after the children and ensure they are safe on a day to day basis, to liaise with parents, carers and other early years practitioners, being a key person, room admin and ensuring the environment is safe and to manage a small team. Alongside nursery, I have provided private babysitting for a handful of nursery clients. Before working at the day nursery, I spent school holidays volunteering at a day nursery and an animal shelter. I have some experience working as a retail assistant in an independent jewellery shop. I also spent a year studying at Peter Symonds Sixth Form College. I will provide a reference if required.
My Qualifications
I currently have a level 5 qualification in childcare and education. I have 7 years experience in a Nursery setting and hold a valid DBS certificate, and 2 years nannying. I have completed a paediatric first aid course and will renew this every three years. I have good knowledge of children's milestones and how to support children to achieve these. I have also worked as a Nursery SeNCO supporting the children in the setting with individual learning needs. I am also willing to continue attending a paediatric first aid course every 3 years to keep a valid certificate and knowledge. I am willing to become ofsted registered.
My Availability
I need to give 4 weeks notice to my current role. I would like a role 3 days a week, I am only unavailable on a Tuesday.
