About Me
Hi, I'm Gemma. I have over 20 years proven experience working in nurseries and nannying. I’m NVQ 3 qualified with certificates in paediatric first aid and I’m DBS checked.
I love looking after children and planning each day to be as much fun as possible – all while meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
I would describe myself as a very active mummy – I like to attend local toddler groups, library, parks, organise day trips and wood walks. We love being outside in the garden too. Since having my children, I have worked towards bringing the eyfs and learning through play into my home and love helping children to learn and have fun. My own children also love the little ones and help me bring fun activities everyday, we have a special focus on books and often plan around a book theme. I have experience with sen and I’m very consistent with our routine with lots of spontaneous play too.
I’m also a non-smoker and a driver with a full clean licence and I have my own car, but ido prefer to stay local as so many opportunities nearby. I take all funding and tax free childcare.

My Experience
Over a decade working in nurseries across South East London with children aged from three months to five years. I have also been a nanny with my child and a most recently a nanny to a new born. I have been a childminder now for nearly 5 years and graded good at my inspection.
I have two sons ages 10 and 8, and enjoy using my extensive experience to plan activities for them in a home setting.
My Qualifications

SEN and Health: Autistic Spectrum: an introduction; Diversity through play; Allergies, anaphylaxis and epi pen training; Understanding Meningitis.
EYFS: Supporting reading and writing in the revised EYFS; the revised EYFS - the two-year-old progress check.

Gemma has been the childminder of my twins for over 2 years now.
She's super active and does plenty of different activities with them. She is also very flexible with our requests and she has been very supportive with them through their development and worked alongside us with their speech delay and therapies.
Kids absolutely love being with her and we would choose her again a hundred times over.

Gemma has been our childminder for nearly three years. She looked after both our children since they were 11month old. Gemma is very loving and caring towards our children. She has a very calm way of talking to them and will patiently explain to them what is expected of them.
Gemma provides a range of motivating play and learning activities catered to their interests and takes their wishes in to account. She will also plan around experiences relevant to our kids. E.g. role play about hair dressing before we take them to get a hair cut.
Gemma is very flexible and provided a very slow and child led settling in period. Our kids love attending her setting and we can only recommend her.
