Hi my name is Claire, Im an ofsted registerd childminder in castle Bromwich. I have many years experience working with children. In day nurseries, schools and now childminding for the past 13 years.
I was graded GOOD in all areas
In my last Ofsted inspection. I hold NVQ levels 2&3 qualified in childcare. I also hold all relevant qualifications for childminding. Inc Safeguarding, food hygiene and first aid. I also attend meetings and do online training and other courses to benefit my role as a childminder.
I have previously worked in schools based in reception classes, school nursery and private nurseries where I ran the toddler room.
I have lots of experience working with babies from newborn +.
I have been married for 19 years and have 2 young daughters aged 23 and 16, My home is a no smoking household.
I live in castle bromwich and am available for before school drop off to castle Bromwich infant school only. Unfortunately I am unable to do any other school/nursery.
I work Monday -Thursday only
7.30am-4pm
(Can be flexible so please feel free to discuss your needs).
I offer places to babies and children aged 0+
*I offer full and part time places.
*Term time only places
*Funding places both 15 or 30 hour entitlement. (please discuss your funding needs to check your full entitlement is right for you and ensure your codes are in date to start on time).
*Funding and normal childcare places are available for children to attend Upto the age of 4yrs or when they start full time school.
Short term spaces may be available, please message to discuss.
I may be able to provide School holiday only cover - contact me to discuss.
We meet up with other childminders regularly most weeks and enjoy many activities together. We have trips to local parks, and In school holidays when possible we occasionally do bigger outings to larger parks, cinema, Local woods, sea life centres etc...with other minders and children which is very exciting for everyone. We've enjoyed many picnics in the park, trips to the airport and train station, play centres, museum etc..
The whole of my downstairs of my home is available for use for my childcare. I have a downstairs toilet which is very helpful with little ones. All activities I plan for children are age/ability suitable. Following the EYFS guidelines for all children helping them learn and develop. As well as being educational they are also fun and enjoyable. We enjoy outdoor play in the garden with kitchen, chalk boards, various Tuff tray activities, Slide, trikes and scooters, balls sand and water play, we also have pop up tents/tunnels, and much more. We also make good use of local green area to enjoy outdoor environment. We often do craft activities in the garden too. We go into the local woods at times to collect conkers and acorns, leaves and sticks to create topic work and pictures. We also celebrate religious celebrations like Chinese New Year and have fun doing creative activities .
Whilst in the home we have fun with many exciting activities and games,books, worksheets and Toys which are all age suitable for children. I have a wide range of toys/equipment for all children. As a mommy myself i know what its like leaving your children in the care of others. I like to ensure all children feel happy and secure and parents reassured their child/children are happy, well cared for and settled in the setting.
My home is kept clean and safe for children to enjoy their time with me in my setting and to feel safe and secure at all times.

My Experience
Over 19 years experience with babies and young children aged 0-7yrs mainly in nurseries and school.
I have experience in care of babies after looking after babies from just 4 weeks old and 13 weeks old. And the best experience of being a mommy to 2 lovely daughters.
worked in private nurseries and schools from leaving school.
Worked 4 years 2007 - 2011 as a room leader at a day nursery, before taking up childminding.
My Qualifications
I have NVQ level 2 &3 in childcare,
I also hold all relevant certificates for childminding
(All certificates for relevant courses were done/updated during 2018-2025).

Claire has been great, was nervous for my baby starting childcare so young and still requiring a lot of attention but Claire has gelled with him no problem. She’s also been considerate of my compressed hours and longer working days. Would definitely recommend!

Claire couldn’t have been more helpful and professional!!! As any new mom going back to work after maternity, the thought of leaving their child was an nightmare however Claire made it such a lovely experience for me and my daughter! She absolutely loves Claire and the childminding group.. it makes it so much easier on work days to drop her off without the guilt that all parents have with leaving their child. My daughters confidence has grew so much within the last month and she has progressed amazingly just from being around Claire and the other children.. Claire keeps me updated with everything that she is doing within the day (painting, playing and eating) and it’s just that bit of reassurance that every parent loves. I couldn’t recommend Claire enough.. definitely the best choice I have made !

Clare has looked after my daughter for a while now my daughter loves going there shit is two and Clare is brilliant with her as my daughter was very clingy but Clare over came that no problem I would recommend her to any one ??

My son absolutely adores Claire and her lovely family, as she provides a home away from home environment, with fun activities that help aid and develop his learning such as: writing, communicating, behaving appropriately and sharing with others. My son brings home paintings and drawings every day, his tracing and writing ability has also come along fantastically, all because of Claire and the effort she puts in to make sure my sons learning and social skills are encouraged. I personally feel the care Claire provides is gold class, she goes above and beyond to ensure the children she cares for are happy and feel comfortable. Claire always keeps me up to date with daily activities by providing a diary that informs me of what my son has been doing through the day and what he has eaten, she also is very organised and lets me know of any upcoming events from my sons nursery, any holidays that she has arranged and ensures that I am very much part of my sons progress, which is extremely important.Being a full time student, it was clear to me that the childminder that looks after my son, needs to be kind, approachable, reliable and someone who i can trust, Claire ticks all of those boxes and so much more. Throughout my sons development, any concerns I have had, Claire has been supportive and offered much advice, she is very focused on making sure parents are involved and more importantly the children are happy. Since meeting Claire and her caring for my son, a weight has been lifted, I often miss quality time with my son through demands of university, I can rest assured knowing he misses nothing as Claire treats him as if he was one of her own. I would highly recommend Claire to everyone, I cannot praise her enough. My son is always excited on a sunday night knowing he gets to see Claire and his friends on a monday! Thank you Claire for being so amazing! xxx
