About Me
Hello, my name is Colette. I’ve been an Ofsted Registered Childminder for over ten years. I work from my home in Halton Village, Runcorn. I provide a nurturing and homely environment in which children can learn and develop through play and having fun.
My career background prior to retraining as a Childminder was mainly in Training and Development. I have always enjoyed helping others learn and develop, especially young people! With this in mind, when I was given the opportunity to change direction I chose to retrain as a Registered Childminder.
Over the years I have worked with many parents and they've always told me that they are happier going to work when they know that their children are safe, having fun and learning too. My approach to early years learning is that children thrive in an environment in which they feel happy, relaxed and secure and that’s exactly what I aim for at all times.
My Experience
I have extensive experience within learning environments. I offer a ‘home from home’ experience for children, where the emphasis is on learning through play. I provide resources and activities to stimulate and interest children. I have fun play area where children can play together and explore their interests. I encourage children to mix with others by regularly taking them ‘out and about’. We enjoy meeting up with other Childminders and their children. We also visit playgroups, go to the park and the library, go on walks and outings and generally have fun!
My Qualifications
I have completed all training required by Ofsted including; CYPOP5 (Understand how to set up a home based childcare service), Level 2 Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Safeguarding Children and EYFS Learning & Development Training on Observation, Assessment & Planning.
