My Experience

I am a qualified early years and primary school teacher. I have over 10 years of experience in supporting the learning and development of children between the ages of 1-8 years old. I have taught reception/year 1 in a primary school in the Bristol area for 5 years where I have provided engaging learning environments, following a child-led approach to learning.

I have a BA Hons Degree specialising in Early Years Education. Prior to teaching, I was an early years practitioner for 7 years in an outstanding nursery in Bristol with children aged 1-4.

I have taught a number of children with SEN including ADHD, global delay and autism. I have experience in emotion coaching, speech and language, dyslexia, attachment and trauma.

I’ve worked closely in partnership with parents and families for a number of years and am passionate about building strong relationships with families, supporting the personal interests of each child.

I am a proactive, trustworthy and professional nanny with 12+ years of experience in supporting the learning and development of children. I have had the privilege of being a sole charge nanny for two families, caring for children from newborn to 3 years old. Recently taking on an additional ‘mother’s help’ role.

With both classroom and home-based education experience, I follow a child-led and gentle approach to learning, focussing on the key interests of children, whilst following individual daily routines. I support children to develop their self-confidence and resilience when learning using emotion coaching.

Building strong relationships with children and families is vital in enabling them to feel safe and nurtured. I have a years of experience in speech and language development and bring this to my interactions. I believe children’s curiosity about the world can be sparked when emerged in life experiences. I engage children in daily trips as part of their routine and believe this supports their understanding of the world, this has included exploring the library, museum, farm, forest school, sports classes, swimming and booking occasional theatre trips.

Adapting to family needs where necessary i.e. sleep schedules, specific health and dietary needs. Maintaining the home learning environment where necessary, up-keeping of books and learning areas. Other responsibilities include laundry and housekeeping, booking and planning weeks classes/trips, food ordering and meal planning, dog walking. I am passionate about health, planning and cooking all meals and trying new recipes. Engaging children in baking and encouraging trying new foods, supporting the weaning of newborn babies.
