About Me
My name is Wendy, I am an Ofsted Registered childminder with over 20 years of experience. My daughter Alice works along side me and is also a registered childminder at my premises, her son attends my setting also.
We both hold enhanced DBS Certificates, Paediatric First Aid, Early Years Level 3, and Cache Level 3 (Childcare). I have Public Liability Insurance and ICO Certificate and am also a member Childcare.co.uk.
We hold many other certificates including Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Sexual Abuse and Child Development. All my certificates are available to view when visiting my setting.
I live with my Husband, we have a few animals at home including 3 dogs and 1 snake. We offer a home-from-home setting with lots of indoor and outdoor activities, we have a wide range of toys and resources to suit all age groups.
My Experience
As a busy mother of 4 and a grandmother of 7, I am well aware of the demands and responsibilities involved in caring for children. I have no doubt that the experiences that I have had already with bringing up my own children help me in my role as a childminder. There is a large age difference between my eldest and youngest child which I believe helped give me skills to cater for multiple ages at one time. I know how challenging it can be to care for children with varying abilities, needs and interests, my Grandson has verbal dyspraxia and autism which led me to take more courses and have more of an understanding to help him as much as I could.
My Qualifications
As part of my pre-registration training, I successfully completed a six-week induction course in childminding ran by the local Early Years Team and approved by Ofsted.
- Level 3 in Childcare Practise Training (Also covering Child Protection, Health & Safety, Child Development and Behaviour Management)
- Child Protection Training
- Paediatric First Aid for Babies and Young Children
- Food Allergy Training
- Infection Prention Covid-19
I also make full use of the training workshops provided by the Early Years Team, Childcare.co.uk and Childminding UK as they become available covering a variety of areas from child development and special needs to play experiences and nutrition and hygiene. I believe it is vitally important to continue to further my training and refresh my skills in order for me to provide a good quality childcare service.
My Availability
Full Days Childcare: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm
(We offer funding for children between the ages of 9 months to 4 years old.)
Unfortunately we are not covering nursery runs due to the restrictions of our daily activities and routines.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
Fees are charged per session, this is worked out on a 12-month pro rota.
All meals you wish your child to have throughout the day are to be provided by parents.
