Hi!
My name is Jacqui, I trained in bakery and cookery for the past few years and loved every minute of it, as well as working as a community chef for a local children’s charity. I have had a change and recently returned to studying to study criminology and forensic science. I warm, kind hearted and trusting person. I love working with children and young people. I’m an honest, reliable and responsible worker. I have previous experience with children with additional and special needs both professionally and personally.
My Experience
I have been working with children and young people since I was still a child myself. I started volunteering at a children’s charity at the age of 14 working with children and young people in various communities throughout Glasgow. This is we’re my passion really grew, from here I expanded into volunteering for other organisations working with children in a variety’s of ways. From outdoor play, to theatre and art groups, sports and cooking. I worked my way up from volunteering to becoming a junior youth worker when turning 17. I recently return to this organisation as a community chef bring my knowledge from various backgrounds into the one role with the goal of providing children and their families with health meals and providing the knowledge to allow parent to gain confidence in the kitchen and include their children in the process. I have worked with children from all backgrounds, specials needs and behavioural problems. I also have younger siblings who have special needs so know that some children just need that extra care, attention and encouragement. I have also had experience in working in the nursery environment from multiple placements in a nursery setting.
