Amanda Curtis

One of a kind, simply a wonderful childminder.

What can I say? Amanda has cared for our two children since 2020 and is now more like an extended member of our family.

We have tried a few different settings in the area, but there isn’t another childminder like Amanda. She goes above and beyond in every way. She really cares about our children’s well-being, making sure each day is filled with fun activities, trips out and nutritious meals.

Amanda’s home setting is also wonderfully equipped. She has lots of different resources suitable for children of different ages, and a brilliant outdoor space which would be the envy of most nurseries in the area.

Our children thoroughly enjoy being at Amanda’s, and both settled in with ease. As parents, we really feel extremely lucky to have found such a brilliant level of care locally - she really is one of a kind. Even on rainy days, it’s amazing to hear how much fun the children have had and how much they have achieved. They both absolutely love being there, and sleep well at night after a fun packed day.

Fantastic childminder

My daughter had just left Amanda’s care after being with her since she was 11 months old and is now making her next big step into school. Since day one Amanda has always made sure that she has the best time with her. From playing in the garden, to days out at the farm, Amanda always cared for our daughter like she was her own and because of that we felt very very comfortable leaving her on 2-3 days per week. Our daughter has always enjoyed going and has made many good friends whilst at Amanda’s. We are all going to miss Amanda and wouldn’t hesitate recommending her to anyone who needs a childminder.

Couldn’t of asked for a better Childminder

Freddie has been with Amanda since he was 9 months old and I was returning back to work.
Immediately on meeting Amanda, I was put at ease by her professional and kind manner and her understanding of my anxiety of leaving my son for the first time.
I didn’t need to worry, Amanda has provided my son with a professional learning environment that has been pivotal in his development and the different types of play and activities on offer was very impressive as you can see in the pictures provided from his sessions of just how happy and settled he is under Amanda’s care.
Amanda has provided activities such as an impressive outdoor activity area with lots of water play and games to the children watching the development of caterpillars turning into butterflies and the children being able to release their own butterfly, one visit to a farms saw them bottle feeding baby lambs and then having an outdoor picnic to finish (Pre Covid).
To see Freddie so happy in his time with a Amanda has been such a huge help not only for me to have peace of mind when I am work but also to see how much he has developed in his language skills, counting and his imagination.
I am so grateful to the support Amanda has given me during our time with her and her care of Freddie and I would not hesitate in recommending Amanda’s setting to another family as you can be assured they will be in such a caring environment that focuses of their enjoyment in play and their development as they grow in her setting.
We are so sorry to be leaving as Freddie is now on his next adventure and is starting school, however a friendship was made and Amanda has been a big part of his life, so we stay in touch.

Simply the best!

We have been sending our son to Amanda for childcare for the last 4 years and we could not be happier with the amazing level of care she has provided. Every aspect of what she does is of an exceptionally high standard, the setting and facilities available for the children are first class, there is always a varied range of engaging activities and after every session a highly detailed report is provided. Our son loves going to Amanda and has made some really good friends there that he looks forward to seeing. Our personal circumstances mean that we don't have any family leaving nearby to help with childcare so having Amanda to support us has been absolutely invaluable, we feel very fortunate to have found her and would recommend to anyone else without hesitation.

Very reliable - couldn’t do without her!!

My children have been going to Amanda’s childcare provision since they were 8 months old and they still love going there at ages 5 and 8.
Amanda is extremely reliable and always shows amazing care, love and respect to the children. Her setting is fun and safe with lots of different activities and she thinks about the activities for the children, in line with their interests.
I would recommend Helping Hands without any hesitation :-)
