About Me

Hello, my name is Sandra. My business name is Sandra's Superstars Childcare.

I am an Ofsted registered childminder, with over 20 years of experience working with children and their families. I had my last inspection at the end of May 2023 and I was rated as GOOD in all areas.
I am committed to the welfare, safeguarding and promotion of children’s education. I offer a safe, secure and fun environment for children to play, grow and learn.

My home provides a loving and friendly family atmosphere, where each child will be made to feel special and become part of our little Superstars family.

I am honest, reliable, friendly and a hardworking person. I’m also Caring and patient with good communication skills.

I have 2 children, who live with their own families now. I have 3 beautiful granddaughters who are 11 and 7 and 1 years old and I have a gorgeous grandson who is 9. I love spending time with them. They sometimes come for play dates with the children I look after.

I used to be a TA which I had been doing for 15 years. I worked in a primary school, and loved working with the children. I worked with small groups and also 1-1 with children with SEN. This meant giving them extra help, support and attending to their specific needs
I did all the training I needed to get ready to start my own child-minding business. I applied to Ofsted to register as a child care provider.

I mainly use what used to be my dining room, which is now the play room. I also have a summerhouse. These are where all activities and play is undertaken. We have a lot of activities and toys in there, including Happyland toys, where we can build a whole village and role play the different areas. We have arts and crafts with gluing and sticking, where we can do all sorts of messy activities. There’s jigsaws and puzzles to keep our brains thinking, we have building and construction where we can challenge ourselves to build different things. We also have role play, with roles such as using the kitchen and café, a post office to be a postman/woman, to mail and send parcels, dress up with numerous outfits. There are babies, dolls pushchairs and cots to learn to be kind and caring for others. We also get the messy mat out spread it on the floor, put our aprons and baking hats on, get all our ingredients and equipment out to mix and prepare what we are cooking together. We have lots of fun.
We also have the living room which we call the quite area. This can be used as a place to gather our thoughts, have a nap or to have carpet time. We like to read stories together and take turns to describe what we think is happening in the pictures. This helps our brains to stimulate and get us thinking.
I also take the children out on visits to Soft Play, we have also attended diddy divas, also the - park, Shops, Library, etc.

I find working with children can be very rewarding and enjoy watching the children develop. I pride myself in my work and aim to provide an excellent service and I am happy to try my best to fulfil any requests a parent requires individually for their child or children.
I believe every child is an individual and needs to be treat that way, I will be working closely with all my parents and offer help and advice with any concerns they have with their children. Your child will be made to feel welcomed into my home

I also offer the 15 hours funded entitlement for 2 year olds. So if you have a 2 year old please get in touch to see if you qualify for free 15 hours childcare. I am approved to offer 2,3,4 year funding.
