About Me
My name is Bernice , I'm an Ofsted Registered Childminder in Ashford Surrey with OFSTED RATING GOOD since October 2022 and works all year round. I am married with 3 children, Ashley 17, Jason 16 and Abigal 15 years old and all in full time education which allows me to do my job more effectively.
We live in a quiet residencial area in a six Bedroom detached house with an outer building setting where I work from with two assistants in Ashford Surrey, I have a big sized garden with Slides, Sea-saws, Swingers and other equipments both indoors and outdoors which gives all the children the opportunity to do more physical activities suitable for each children's age and Stage of development, I also live near a big playgrand just two minutes walk across my road where I often take the children for a walk and play, as well as weekly outings to the library and stay and play toddler groups and parks
My home is a Smoke Free, Pet Free and I offer a wide range of healthy meals and snacks. I make good use of the local play groups, Library and parks where I take the children and meet up with other childminders on a regular basis which the children enjoy through playing and exploring, I also do take the children in my setting on day Trips during school holidays and half-terms to interesting places like Bedfont Lakes, (Go-Karting for older children), Snakes and Ladders in Brentford, The Urban Farm in Feltham, to the movies and many other interesting places all to boost their learning experience and development.
My Experience
Being a mother of 3 children and married can be challenging and hard work, but I feel so grateful to have a family whom I care and love so much. Through this experience, I have enjoyed every moment to work around Children through all their stages of development and most of all as I work around them to keep them safe, cared for, and given the opportunity to develop and Learn through Playing and exploring in a home environments. My setting is fully insured with Public Liability Insurance of £10m
I also work closely with parents to gain more knowledge of their child/children and to know their experiences and work together as a family, share activities and ideas and give daily updates on how their children/child's day have been, I also do termly parents meeting to update parents on the child's progress and sends them pictures monthly on how their children/child's has been during the month as well learning track album. I also find time to socialize with my children at other times of the day when they return from school whilst still working which they all enjoy being together with other Children.
My Qualifications
I hold a Degree in Bsc Business Administration (Human Resource Management Option) Leadership and Management Certificate in Mayor of London's Iniative in Leadership and Management Program for Early Years Practitioners.
I have also acquired CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples' Workforce.
CACHE Level 2 in Children and Young People's Workforce Certificate
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in - Home-Based Childminding.
First Aid Paediatric Certificate( which is updated every three years)
Child Protection and Safeguarding Certificate
Risk Assessment
Level 2 Certificate for Food and Hygiene (which is updated every two years)
Moving and Handling in Childcare Setting Level 2 Award
Anaphylaxis and Epipen Certificate for early years setting and many more.
I am a Fully trained SENCO Coordinator in: Statutory Requirements, SENCO Role, Early Identification and Intervention and Processes for SEN Funding and Statutory Assessment
Forest school trained and still ongoing.
My Availability
I work Monday to Friday 6:00am to 7:00pm but Saturday, Sunday and Overnight can also be considered as and when needed
I have 1Full- time vacancies for under 2
I have 2 Part-time vacancies for 0-12years Old.
I do not do school runs and pick ups at the moment which affords me the opportunity to have a more structured routine for the benefit of my minded children and I'm Flexible to work around shift and weekend workers as I work with two assistants and aim to provide childcare services that meets parents needs.
