About Me
Hi. My name Is Lana. We live in Reading, Tilehurst RG30.I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2010. I am a qualified level 3 Early Years Practitioner, with 15 years experience working with 0-5 year olds. Ofsted Good Feb 2019.
Originally from Ukraine. Married to a South-African. I have two sons - 13 and 10 years old. I provide a loving and caring home from home setting for children to explore and thrive in.
I have an open plan playroom/dining room area for the children to play in. I enjoy being outdoors, and will spend every day outside doing something fun with the children. We have our own garden. I am located within walking distance a local playground for children to run around and have fun with other children. We also attend local toddler groups, library.
I believe that children learn best through play, and put this into practise daily. I also encourage choice and child participation in what activities we do throughout the week. I am a creative person who enjoys doing arts and craft and baking activities with the children. I provide a range of different activities and resources, which cover all the areas of the EYFS to meet the needs of each individual child.
I work closely with parents/carers to be able to provide the best possible care for their child and to meet their individual needs.
I speak Russian, English, German and Ukrainian.
I have part- and full time spaces available. I can be flexible on days and drop off and pick up times. I do pick ups from All Saints' infant and Junior school.
Mon-Fri 8:00- 17:00 £6 p/h

24 years experience in childcare: 10 of which working as a nanny and a nursery teacher, and 14 years as a childminder.

First Aid Paediatric Traininng
CRB checked
Cache Diploma Level3 in Early Years Childcare.
Food Hygiene Course
Safeguarding children
and lots of other relevant courses for childminders.
My Availability
My opening hours are Mon - Thur 8:00 - 17:00
But I am reasonably flexible trying to meet working parents' needs. So please feel free to ask me if you need childcare outside those hours.

Our daughter has been with Lana from a very young age and she has absolutely loved being looked after by Lana.My son also attended Lanas setting and he's absolutely loved it.Lana's home is perfectly set up for childminding, with a lovely safe garden.My daughter is always happy and excited to be spending the day with Lana and loves seeing all her friends there. Lana have provided a very caring, supportive and fun home-from-home environment in which our daughter has thrived. Communication has always been excellent, with both children and parents, the children have a wide variety of activities during the day including plenty of time outside, and the food she provide is very healthy and varied.
Essentially I can’t recommend Lana highly enough for her brilliant home environment, range of developmentally appropriate activities, reliability and the relationship she builds with the kids in the Tilehurst area.

Lana has looked after my 2yr 5 month old daughter Poppy since she was 8 months old and we honestly couldn't be happier with the experience we’ve had. Lana is passionate about childcare and shows a deep care for our daughter’s development and wellbeing. We are continually blown away by the activities Lana prepares for the children and the outings they go on. We love the fact they spend so much time outside. Lana provides nutritious meals made from scratch which my daughter loves. Lana is highly knowledgable about early years development and always takes the time at drop-off / pick-up to talk about how Poppy is getting on. I have always felt relaxed and confident with my child being in Lana's care. Lana and Poppy quickly formed a close bond and we will be so sad to move on when the time comes. I would not hesitate to recommend Lana’s childminding services to other parents.

Lana is now caring for my second child. My first thrived in her setting and is now happily engaged at school. There are a few parents who have sent their next child to Lana and it’s easy to see why.
She is attentive and affectionate. She is kind and supportive. My children are outside playing in almost all weather. They eat food there that they refuse at home.
She has really focused on their emotional learning, as well as helping them develop their language and motor skills.
I couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust with my children. I am so grateful to have Lana in my children’s lives!

Sadly last year the nursery we had our little boy in shut down and we had to find new childcare. I was really hesitant at first, but Lana was kind, reassuring and fantastic with our son. From day one he settled in really quickly and we were kept updated with how he was doing and pictures of the fun he was having. A year on and I can honestly say I'm glad the nursery shut down. My son has learnt so much with Lana, he comes home everyday with new vocabulary and his understanding of concepts and following directions has come on leaps and bounds. Lana always gives detailed feedback about his day and is happy to answer any questions that we might have. My son has developed lovely friendships with his peers and is always excited to go to Lana's house. It's wonderful to see how well he's developing but the most important element for me is that I know he's happy and safe. I would highly recommend Lana to anyone that is looking for a childminder!

Lana has been taking care of my son since he was 1 year old. I can’t imagine better childminder for him. Tymon absolutely adores her and even though he is at nursery now he still remembers her and talk about her, which means she gave him great memories to remember. This is a big thank you to you Lana for taking such a cool care of him.
