About Me
Hiya my name is Selina (Seli) to the kids. I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have 5 children, 3 who have grown up and moved out I live with my partner, and our 2 youngest children, our Beagle dog Crackers and our lion lop rabbits Mars and Venus.
I am passionate about Quality Early years childcare provision, and my family.
Outside of working hours I am taxi to my youngest two children in pursuit of their hobbies and dreams. I absolutely love working with children and aim to provide an environment that is rich with opportunity, stimulating, inviting, inspiring awe and wonder and safe and secure for all children.
I am currently working towards my curiosity approach accreditation which is a blend of pedagogy which has the child's best interests at heart.
I am working with one assistant currently who has level 3 safeguarding, paediatric first aid training, and has enhanced DBS and Ofsted suitability checks.
My Experience
I have raised my own three children and two (now adult) step children and currently help care for my grandchildren niece and nephew as well as helping my friends with child care which prompted me to register as a childminder with Ofsted in February 2014.
I have attended various child care courses (too many to list here) including
child protection and well being, other safeguarding, various child development, paediatric first aid, & behaviour understanding and follow the statutory requirements set out in the EYFS.
I am currently working towards my curiosity approach accreditation. I have been childminding now for 10 years and have cared for children from 9 weeks to 12 years old in a childminding capacity.
My Qualifications
I have attended many courses, webinars and seminars and regularly read information from the Local authority, PACEY, EYA, Childcare.co.uk, DDSCP.
My Qualifications include but are not limited to:
BIRT course (to become an ofsted registered childminder)
Level 3 Safeguarding & Designated safeguarding lead training
three steps to baby safety, neglect, domestic abuse, alcohol and substance misuse, county lines and prevent and other break away specific safeguarding courses
Teddy bears and tigers
Behaviour and attitudes (understanding)
Paediatric first aid updated every two years and refresher app annually
CURIOSITY APPROACH accreditation (working towards)

I am constantly updating my skills and knowledge as well as my setting.
This means I will be attending other courses, webinars and seminars throughout each year as well as renewing any that need to be updated.
My staff also do many of these courses ensuring the best quality of care.
My Availability
Selina’s childminding is open from 7am-5pm, Monday-Thursday.
I offer school drop offs only to Grange Primary School in Long Eaton.
Availability- EYFS x 0 spaces. Waiting list full and currently closed.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
I charge £5.50 per hour or £10.50 before school (7-9am)
I also offer 30 & 15 hours free childcare scheme for 2&3 year olds.
