About Me
I am 49 years old and have been married to Dale for 25 years. We have 3 beautiful children. Kayley is 26 years old and has made me a very proud grand parent to a beautiful baby girl born in November 2018, and a beautiful grandson born February 2021. Shannon is 25 and our little man Jack is 18 years old. Before becoming a childminder 18 years ago I had worked for Waitrose for 16 years. So I know exactly how hard it can be to juggle a job and a young family. I have lived in Bury St Edmunds all my life and have a large family here. I have found my calling in life and really enjoy my job as a childminder. Each day is different and my family love it too. I offer a Home from Home childcare setting and pride myself in offering a well balanced setting to enable each child to enjoy and achieve in my care, in a safe and fun environment.
We have amazing days out in the holidays. Our adventures take us far and wide and include seaside days, train rides, splash parks, Zoo trips,indoor play areas, local parks, High lodge, Needham Lake, Brandon Country park.... the list goes on.
I attend a variety of toddler groups. As a small group of childminders we regularly meet up and have amazing days out also. Such as visits to the fire station, vet visits, Easter parties, trips to the zoo and beach and many more, High Lodge, West Stow, Nowton Park and many many more wonderful local places.
I love the outdoors and love taking children to local parks and many other wonderful local places. We have a chocolate Sprocker called Bailey who is loving being part of the family and part of our childminding day.
I have had a recent ofsted inspection. 15th May 2023. I was graded a good overall and feel very proud of my report.
My Experience
I have always loved working with children and became a cub scout leader at a young age. I then went on to gain a BTEC National Diploma in Social Care. Whilst on this 2 year college couse, I worked in a number of schools, primary, middle and special needs. I then went on to have a family of my own and gained all the life skills needed to become a parent.
I have now been a registered childminder for 17 years and have a vast experience with ages and stages of different children, but truly believe I learn something new everyday.
My Qualifications
I have a BTEC National Diploma in Social Care, First aid, Safe guarding, Food and hygiene, and plan to add to my training over the years. All are updated regulary to ensure my policies and procedures are within the every child matters framework.
My Availability
I have a vacancy starting September 2025. I also have a waiting list you can be added to for when an appropriate vacancy becomes available. My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I charge an hourly rate and give allowances for holidays. I am registered with a number of childcare voucher agencies and take payments either weekly or monthly to suit each client. I am also registered to offer 15 hours of universal funding and the extended 15 hours funding.
My Local Schools
