About Me

My name is Joanna I am 50 years old. I have been a registered child minder for 21 years . I have 2 children of my own aged 23 and 20. I work with an assistant occasionally, called Anneli who is my sister and has 2 children herself aged 16and 12 I provide a warm and friendly service within my home, where i believe all children have the right to be understood as individuals and be given time and opportunity to develop as creative, competent learners within a secure and caring environment.
We have a 2 family dogs called Mollie and Ella. Mollie is a shitzu and Ella is a black lab. They spend most of the day with us and are both extremely child friendly and all of the children I look after love them. I engage children in lots of different activities so they can play, learn and develop into confident happy children. All children in my care are treated with respect and are always praised and encouraged regardless of age and ability.
I am 1st aid trained and have taken many courses related to child care. I am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY)
and also part of the quality assured child minding network.
I follow The Early Years Foundation Stage, which is broken down into 7 areas of learning and development. Which i use when planning fun activities for the children to take part in.
I am a member of the Whittlesey child minding group which we attend on a regular basis. I also take children to local toddler groups and soft play centre's, where they get opportunity to take part in larger activities to bring on their social skills.
I can also access the 30 hours free funding for 3 & 4 year olds and 15 hours for eligible 2 year olds. I cover park lane School and Coates Primary.
